This is kind of an enormous (no pun intended) story which begs the question why both the CNN and Fox websites have it nowhere near the top line?   Apparently 8 tug boats were no bueno.  :(

Absolutely a huge story.  As per usual though, our national news hasn't picked up on it because it hasn't affected Americans yet.

I think that a lot of people don't realize how fragile the supply chain is.  This blockage will have ripple effects on prices and availability of items worldwide.  With this blockage, trade from most of Asia to Europe is blocked UFN.

Having said all of that, when I googled the blockage the first three stories were NYT, CNET, and CNN.  I imagine that if you checked BBC or Al-Jazeera you'd find the most up to date information.

It was on the CBS news last night.
"I am one of those who think the best friend of a nation is he who most faithfully rebukes her for her sins—and he her worst enemy, who, under the specious and popular garb of patriotism, seeks to excuse, palliate, and defend them" - Frederick Douglass

Agree .. I've seen multiple stories about this.

Also .. if there were 10x more stories, would people do anything differently?

Wait .. should I be hoarding toilet paper again?

brb.

Was this Wojo's landing spot? Skippering another great ship into the ground?

What are they transporting...Wojo's buyout?

So over two days after the incident.

Took you less than an hour to shift that goalpost.  Impressive!

In what way?  I said that the stories existed when I googled it?

My point is that it wasn't an important story when it happened which is why it was only making the US national news broadcasts two days later.

I shifted exactly zero goal posts.

Why are you always looking for a debate?

You:  "As per usual though, our national news hasn't picked up on it because it hasn't affected Americans yet."

Me:  "It was on the CBS news last night."

Topper: "Agree .. I've seen multiple stories about this."

You:  "So over two days after the incident."  (BTW, this is also wrong. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning. The CBS News piece was on Wednesday evening.  Even accounting for the time difference, it was not "over two days" after the incident.)

Lol...no.  First you said it hasn't been picked up on.  Then you said they picked on it late.  Pure goalpost shift of the highest order.

That's OK.  You can be wrong sometimes you know.

I'm not saying it wasn't covered at all but it's a rather important story that will impact Americans.  Especially if it's stuck there for weeks.  When you looked at the top 7 or so stories on CNN or Fox yesterday it wasn't to be found.  Let's just say the other headlines were not exactly vital pieces of information that have a significant bearing on our lives.

Oh congrats, I was off by a matter of hours.  Happened early morning Tuesday Egypt time, and was reported on the CBS nightly news midnight/early AM Thursday Egypt time.  Your math is better, you're better.  You happy?  You're staring a stupid debate about a few hours, when we live in a 24 hour news cycle.  If this was the Panama Canal and not the Suez canal, you'd better believe it would be nonstop news in the US.  Instead, it took quite a while to make the evening national news cycle.

If you want to be a debatelord about a few hours to play the gotcha game, by all means.  I admit I'm wrong more than almost anyone on this board.  Unlike yourself, I can man up when I am wrong instead of just disappearing from the thread and pretending it didn't happen.

Or you could just discuss the topic at hand instead of being so pedantic.

Can we get back to the toilet paper question?

It's not exactly a, errrrr, fast moving story. Only so many ways you can say "ship still stuck".
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Gather leaves and loose-leaf paper.

Fortunately, as opposed to arguing about it, you can track toppers fresh toilet paper in real time:

But this is scoop. Argue away.

Scott is the equivalent of leaves and twigs IMO.

We have a big pack still from the great TP shortage of '20 when it was literally the only ass paper in town.

Can confirm, it's the worst.  Sandpaper is a good comp.
