Stories on the liberal MSM haven't told us where we can send the gallons of water that we want to donate. If we send enough, the water level of the canal goes up and the ship just sails easily into the sunset.

The question I have - the Suez Canal has guidelines for the size of ships that are permitted to pass through it. As I understand it, this ship is larger than the guidelines. So why was it allowed to try?

I appreciate word play.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I keep staring at that excavator picture.  My brain can't handle the size and scale of what's going on there.

It is so Scooplike for the main debate about a story of this magnitude to be about when the stories first appeared in the mainstream media.  ::)

Especially considering the containers almost double the height of the ship.  Might as well use a spoon to dig out a 100yr old oak tree.

edit: dang, I didn't see this reply first.

Worldwide shipping containers and cargo ships were already difficult to come by and full of delays before this.  Things just got even worse.

Estimated $400m per HOUR of lost revenue.  Whoa.

Not sure I believe that estimate.  Some of the goods might be perishable, but .. they'll eventually be delivered.

Does that number include all of the traffic that normally traverses the canal?

The maps that show all the ships rerouted to now go around the Cape at the south of Africa is wild.  Havent seen that much traffic since the 1800s.

Even if it's 'only' $300M/hour, that's a lotta Beef 'N Cheddars.

So where are the MU engineers on this?  I thought you guys were smart. All the stuff has to come off.  Oh yeah, and call the Costa Concordia salvage guys. Fixing screw-ups costs money. Big money.  A lesson we just learned at our beloved. Back to my adult beverage.
