Pretty sure Ron Curry isn't available.

As I've said multiple times:

Call the following. In this order:

Moser
Shaka
The oral roberts coach
Gates

Sadly, that made me laugh. Was a big Ron Curry fan and sad ending to his story.

Clearly, I will be upset and disappointed if MU doesn't land either Moser or Shaka, Pitino being declared a non-starter at the gate.
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

Beilein, Pitino, and Matta would be of interest, but I am also not delusional about MU hoops and don't think they're realistic candidates for various different reasons.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I think Beilein is very realistic but not Pitino or Matta.

Tums Festival

1. Moser (the deeper Loyola goes in the tournament, the less likely this happens)
2. Gates (critics of his amount head coaching experience need to know he has more than Majerus, KO, Crean, Brent, and Steve combined when they were hired as Marquette's head coach)
3. Shaka (only way this happens is of he's fired by Texas and they pay his buyout)
4. Any of the possibilities not mentioned above but who've been mentioned frequently here.
5. Anyone but Crean.

1. Beilein
2. Moser if we can afford him or get him
3. Shaka if he gets fired
4. Gates
5. Smith
6. DeVries
7. Pitino

Has almost everyone forgotten about Beilein's "thug" comment when he was with the Cavaliers? Marquette hasn't been in the habit of being the place for coaches to rehab their image (see Ben Howland).

Much like us with Wojo, I think if any school came to UT with interest to hire Shaka, they'd waive the buyout.

But would Shaka?
Walking away from $7+ million can't be easy.

I guess my assumption is based off of Texas not firing him. Shaka would have to play hardball and say I'm only leaving if you fire me.

If Shaka just wants out and Texas is willing to give him one more year to save money, then waiving the buyout MU would pay Texas seems to be a real option. I don't know that Shaka has many years left on his current contract.

Shaka ain't coming to MU.

I think you're probably correct on this one. He's probably my third choice but I think he's lower than that for Scholl

I would guess that if Texas is at the point where they'd be happy to see Shaka take his talents elsewhere, a $7.2 million buyout isn't going to make a difference. Even with COVID and Tom Hermann's buyout last year last year, that athletic department made a $22 million profit.
