Ya know things are bad when the only thing that can give Scoopers hope these days is an interwebs rumor about the coach getting fired.

Or better yet (fingers crossed), the administration taking a dump on the coach's forehead!

Jesum Crow people. Pitino ran a brothel for his players. He will never be our coach.

All you are doing is setting yourselves up to be upset when either a) Wojo is retained or b) Wojo is fired and we don't even look up Pitino's phone number. At least find some reasonable possibilities to be disappointed about.

Sounds like you are more in the know about how the administration thinks than I am, so I hope you're right.

I obviously agree about Pitino's lobbying skills. Strikes me as the kind of guy who could sell mink coats to PETA.

I wish I was in the know. Just feel that this board often too quickly dismisses the MO of our administration. Like you, they are highly successful people. They’re not stupid. I would have to believe if a HOF coach sent out his feelers (oops bad analogy 😑 😂), they would look at what his hiring would mean, even at the very start for season ticket sales and the bottom line, and hear him out.

I'd normally take this with a little grain of salt, but the OP on this thread is known for...well, sh*tposting.

Sounds like trolling to get the troops riled up.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I doubt it has any chance of happening, but IF MU approaches Pitino, they would have to make some very clear conditions.

The most important, of course, would be that he burn the whiteout suit he wore a few years back.

Thanks-Was wondering about the original post and how much of this tied back to the joke post posing as Rothstein yesterday. I do think the Killings news is pretty brutal regardless and would worry about its impact on current players/recruits more than anything. If theres actually anything here no complaints from me but I highly doubt there would be no smoke at all from the media.

We’ll never get Matta or Beilein or Oats, but we could get Pitino.  If we don’t, someone else will, though I agree that it’s probably a long shot.

Guy sure is one hell of a college basketball coach.

Agree he is a hell of a coach; beyond that, gross and no thank you.

Everyone is obsessed with Pitino-You could go to any college board right now with a coach underachieving and/or one who just had their coach fired and youd see posts identical to this. Lets get back on track on the rumor-if its even remotely anything....firing Wojo is more important to me than Quick Rick

If Sy leaves, I wish him luck.  Good kid, seemed like a hard worker, just didn’t work out for him at MU.

He gone, his lead recruiter getting a job in his home state, 2.5 hr drive, gone baby gone

Hopefully Lewis stays

Got to admit, this and other thread have been great reads in past few days.  Just insanity and here are my favorites so far:

MU has to hire a black coach because majority of players are black.
Rick Pitino to MU
Further discussion of Rick Pitino to MU, even though posters say its not going to happen
Iona going to Final Four in two years.
UWM coach Baldwin would elevate the MU program to new levels

Keep it going, maybe Mark Few needs a change of scenery.

I thought Lewis was actually recruited by Wojo? I remember them asking him about Wojo's impact being a Baltimore HS hoops legend during the recruitment.

Pfft ... Few has zero Nattys and only one Final Four in 20+ seasons. Stop setting the bar for MU so low.

Killings did the most work on Lewis but Wojo was heavily involved, more involved than he is with most recruits.

Don't know about the others, but you and I are deadly serious here.

It has 0.001% chance of happening ... but girls can dream, right?
There are plenty of people on this message board who dream about Kate Upton. So we can have a little fun dreaming about Pitino here in the off season too.

I am with you. I would much rather be dreaming about Rick, than having nightmares about next season with Wojo as HC.

Well that's 1/3.5 I actually care about returning being actually invested in Wojo (.5 being Osa pending his ability to eat and work out)

I know that its a fine line because you can't scramble last minute to find a coach but I'm really in the camp that we should see where DJ/DG/Lewis are at before doing anything.

If those guys are all planning to comeback I think losing Wojo at this point is too extreme a risk. Unless you can really knock it out of the park.
