If MU is considering moving on from Wojo, they're likely already working on lining up his replacement. They don't need to publicly announce anything to do that.

My guess is that if there's going to be a change - and that's a big IF, IMO - it would only happen if/when they're confident they've got their guy. They're not going to fire their coach and bumble through a weeks long  search and get publicly rejectedby a couple of targets, a la St. John's a couple of years ago.

Or our very own #donedeal fiasco.

He should go play for Killings at Albany. He'll have more fun and get some good PT and will have a chance at the tourney a few times. Think about it...we are all sitting here with nothing to look forward to for 9 months and Traci Carter is preparing for an NCAA tournament game.

Damn, isn't Carter like 35 years old by now?

He'll be 25 in June. So basically the age of a true freshman for the Badgers

UNC was a genius move on wojos part.  Brilliant

I am actually quite surprised by this but there is serious discussion taking place. Some money is lining up. Very interesting.

I don't think the decision has been made yet but if I was a betting man I would say he's here next season.

He'll leave for the first high major who offers.  Hopefully that's Marquette.  I think he could have 5-6 years left on the sideline.

I can't see Pitino's past fitting in real well with the school's mission.

We'll never get Matta or Beilein or Oats, but we could get Pitino.  If we don't, someone else will, though I agree that it's probably a long shot.

Guy sure is one hell of a college basketball coach.

Pitino is everything I want in a coach on the floor.   It is my opinion that his baggage is too much for Marquette to carry.

Lots of coaches have baggage, though.  Calipari.  Roy Williams with the fake classes.  Kelvin Sampson.  Bruce Pearl.  And yet these guys keep on coaching, and winning.  And when they win, people kind of just forget about that baggage, and it's only brought up by jealous fans of other teams.

We've had a choir boy for seven years.  It's time for MU to take a dump on his forehead and send him packing, and get a real coach in here who knows what he's doing.

We are a point where baggage might need to be overlooked for a little bit.

The exact opposite of Wojo. I would be shocked if this administration hired Pitino.

admittedly I'm making an assumption, but i doubt Marquette's 'mission' is all that different from what Iona would state is theirs. Iona has a great coach, hopefully humbled by past transgressions. Iona in a FF in another two years would not surprise me in the least.

Rumors are that Iowa State wants TJO.  I wonder if that is spurring some action among the people who could fund a buyout because IMO he would be a GREAT fit for a number of reasons.

People have said on here that one game doesn't determine a coach's employment status, but I feel like that Georgetown game was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Also considering how Georgetown went on to win the BET too.

He's an interesting name and one I personally really like. This season was underwhelming at UNLV, but otherwise he's been rock solid with a bunch of different HC and AC stops. He also has strong ties to the area which may create some more loyalty.

Or TJO goes to Iowa State and Wojo to UNLV. His name was briefly floated to UNLV a couple years ago?
