Safety Alert – Be on the Lookout

The Marquette University Police Department is aware of a situation in which an individual is threatening and striking women in the area of Marquette University. MUPD is working with Milwaukee County Behavioral Health and the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office to hold the individual for long-term supervision and treatment.

If you see the person in the photo below on campus, please contact MUPD immediately at (414) 288-6800, via the 450 blue light phones on campus or via MUPD's free safety app, EagleEye. The app features a mobile BlueLight feature that connects you directly to MUPD and sends the device's location in real-time. MUPD has dedicated additional police officers to protect the campus community and respond immediately to reports of this individual in the area.

In my Legal Ethics class in law school, there was a case about a lawyer who was sanctioned by a court for wearing a bolo tie in the courtroom. The issue was whether a bolo tie constituted a "necktie," which the courtroom rules required for male lawyers.
