1-1 in the final two.

Run to the semis in the BET if we are on Creighton's side. Blowout loss in the 2nd round if we play Nova.

How do we get on Creighton's side?  We need to get the 7 or 10 seed which I don't see very many realistic scenarios that get us there.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

The most realistic path to Creighton's side is losing to both DeP and X. That puts us 10th, no matter what anybody else does.

We also can finish 10th by winning 1 of 2 to end up at 7-12 and have Butler win its only remaining game, Sat at Creighton. Sounds unlikely ... but Butler did just beat Nova so who knows. If we win 1 of 2 and Butler loses, we'd have the same record and we beat Butler twice.

Could theoretically finish in a multiple-team tie for 7th but I don't know how tiebreakers work.

Either way, I'll be rooting for us to win both of our remaining games, and I'll worry about the BE tourn bracket when it happens.

Yeah, I don't see either of those scenarios (MU going 0-2 or Butler beating Creighton) very likely. I too would rather just see the boys play good ball this week and head into NYC coming off some Ws. But yeah, its all futile anyway.

In addition to what 82 said, Creighton can get the 1 seed if they beat Nova and Butler this week. That would but them at 15-5 in conference. Marquette likely gets the 8 or 9 with one win this week, putting MU and CU on the same side.

This is the best case scenario for a run since Uconn/Nova would both be on the bottom.

Can MU overcome the handicap of DePaul’s Senior Night? They couldn’t last year even with Paul Reed sidelined.

That may actually be the best alternative.  And more likely than Butler beating Creighton.
