That is the worst 15-8 record ever. Marquee wins over Rutgers an Louisville get them in the tournament I guess. They are totally undeserving of a bid.

CountryRoads

They've taken care of business enough though, unlike MU. If MU had just beaten DePaul and one other team they'd be right in the mix for a bid as well.

PGsHeroes32

They are still clearly in the field. But I do feel like most brackets are overrating them.

They got Northwestern next for a win. But after that they may lose 3 more. Probably at least 2 of them.

I think depaul and one of seton hall (Koby travel) UConn (massive collapse) and Xavier (buzzer beater) could've done it. That's what so painful is we were right there and easily could be up on top

They don't have a single win against the 5 teams ahead of them in the Big Ten standings. Their resume is complete smoke and mirrors. Should they get credit for beating MN who actually does have 3 high quality Big Ten wins but hasn't won a road game all year?

Providence had a chance to win at the buzzer before OT

SJU at home was.......unimpressive down the stretch and on the final possession.

We are definitely not a good team and the fact that so many of these games all happened to be lost proves theres too many consistent flaws, but we certainly are not the abomination that some act like we are.

Silly thread.

None of us are or want to be Madison fans, but most or all of us would trade positions with Madison this season as far as NCAA consideration is concerned.

Obviously.

Then don't reply.

They are unquestionably worthy of a bid. They have 8 Q1+2 wins and 5 of their 8 losses are to teams in the top-7 of the NET. They aren't as good as many (myself included) expected them to be, but I can't see them slipping below the 6/7 lines because losing in the Big 10 doesn't really hurt you.

Billy Hoyle

So this is where we are now as a program. Mocking a top 25, NCAA Tourney bound rival for ONLY being 7 games above .500?

Yep, time to fire Wojo.

I think people are frustrated and just hoping Whisky falls down the seed line.   Your point is well taken but they are not a top 25 team.

21 of 23 (1997). Two final fours and the title game. Would have been in last year as conference champs. In addition, three conference tourney titles and five regular season titles.

In that same time span we've made the tourney 13 times (likely last year) and one final four. Also, one conference tourney title and two regular season titles.

Yeah, we sure do have it better than they do.  ::)

OK gang, let's be real here. Anyone who attended Marquette has an IQ that breaks triple digits, so of course we're not Badger fans. We have more pride in ourselves than wanting to be affiliated with the schools whose fans could not get into the local auto-diesel college.

That said, Wojo doesn't hold a candle to Greg Gard. Yes, Gard would kill to have some of Wojo's talent. But Gard gets more with less than Wojo ever will. If Greg Gard, or Bo Ryan for that matter, were coaching Marquette with the talent we have, we'd be second or third in the Big East giving Villanova a run for its money rather than giving DePaul and Butler a run at their hold on the Big East cellar.

Gard has proven he can win with three-star talent. His system works for the talent he has. Give 'em credit for it and then call your local exterminator and tell 'em you have a Badger infestation in your yard.

Agree 100%. UW has coached up their players and teams while Marquette especially under Wojo does not. Wish it weren't so. I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with MU. After watching our win over Butler, the answer is "fire." We were fired up for the second time all year. The other time was when we played the Badgers.  Wojo doesn't fire up the team for most games. And usually there isn't an emotional leader on the team. In too many games we played pick up ball, where it doesn't matter if we win or lose. We need a HC who coaches with fire. And we need players that play with fire.

I really wish I could disagree with this...but I just can't.  :(

I wouldn't trade Wojo for Greg Gard.  I mean, I think he's a better coach, but I don't think he's really all that great.  His recruiting hasn't been stellar, and he's no Bo Ryan.  IMO player development has had a much shorter arc than under Bo too.

The seniors on his team are trash.  Reuvers and Davison are trash.  Ford and Trice are fine but they're 24 years old for crying aloud

Exactly.  They are underperforming considerably this year.
