Our second season with a losing record this century, seems an apt adjective.

The losing record thing is a bit misleading. With 3 missing cupcakes and a home game vs. one of the two worst teams in the conference (I realize that isn't necessarily a layup for this team), that's 3-4 wins left off our record in a normal season. Under the same circumstances, Buzz' last year would have been a losing season and I think 1 or 2 of TCs would have been as well.

What is catastrophic is that in a year where the expectation should have been to at least make the Big Dance, we will likely finish nowhere near bubble territory (barring an improbable run). What's worse, it's the second consecutive year where we fell short of expectations.

I have to keep things in perspective that many guys here were born after 1977 and don't have some experiences in basketball life that some of us have.

Unless things massively change, this is the first coach since Dukiet (1986-1989) to have two losing seasons. Before that, it was Jack Nagle (1953-58).

Dukiet was fired. Not sure if Nagle was fired, but after his tenure at MU he spent the next 30 years coaching high school, so it's not like he moved up from Marquette. I guess that's perspective for anyone born after 1940, but maybe this is still sunshine and roses for some.

Fair point but Whisky is not a 5 seed and they could fall to the 10 line.

We're knot even a 10 line in da NIT, if dey even had a 10 line, hey?

Catastrophic isn't a word I would use.  Dissappointing, yes, but not catastrophic.

I don't disagree with you

It's been a colossal s-show

But we will be back.

Blow it up, start over, and find the right group to lead us back to the promised land.

We absolutely can and will get back to sledgehammer hoops in due time.

To be fair Nagle actually got us to be a relevant program. Chandler had a couple great seasons, Idk if we weren't competing for bids or what, but Nagle actually took us to our first legit postseasons.

In light of the catastrophic season we have had I have zero problem with people venting and taking joy in Whisky getting rolled.

I usually take my frustrations out on Whisky, prefer it neat. Never heard of anyone rolling it for pleasure maybe I'll try rolling a dram tonight.

Couple very fond nights at Mcswiggans though more likely to be found at Bart An Chaladh or Carribou if I'm in the Woodquay.

Just had to push back my annual flight. So I'm stuck here with the rest of you through the tough times.

Agree on all of that.

That would imply major malfeasance by the staff either in recruiting or academically.  Results on the court have been disappointing and frustrating.

Four losing records in conference out of 7 seasons for this staff and two seasons in a row when the program should be on an upswing?

Yea that's complete failure.

About two hours north of where my moms from in Mayo. Next time you're over there go check out Silkie Distillery. They're doing some really cool things for Irish whiskey up there.

Donegal is probably the most beautiful place I've visited in Ireland.  I was in a wedding in Mayo (Swinford) 11 years ago for an old UC-Galway classmate I'd befriended (if I could up and move to Galway I would in a second). My friend there referred to Mayo as "the county the Celtic Tiger jumped over."

Is that the Mayo reference in your signature? I've been trying to find the Sam Hauser and Todd Mayo connection.

Peyton. They have a big farm there.

My friend's dad's speech was 45 minutes about some famous Mayo v. Meath All-Ireland final when he was a kid and how hard it was for him to see his daughter marry a guy from Meath.
