USGA will require proof of vaccination or proof of a recent negative test for any fan wanting to attend either the US Open or the US Women's Open.

Reports that the USGA are thinking of pairing Brooks and Bryson for the first two rounds at the US Open.  If true.... Dumb.   The US Open doesn't need to generate hype.

Really dumb.

Way better for the rivalry if it happens organically over the weekend due to placement(preferably both would be right at the top too)

Yup. Plus it kind of punishes Koepka for getting out in front of the slow play stuff, IMO, which the PGA has expressly tried to focus on fixing.  If a guy develops a rivalry with someone in part because he's willing to call him out for slow play, you don't respond by going and then making him play with the slow guy.

The cicadas are making their presence known at Memorial.    :)

Wow.  What an absolute disaster for Rahm who was leading the Memorial (by 6 shots) but is now a DQ because he tested positive for COVID.  He's asymptomatic and I assume vaccinated.

I'm sure more will come out on Rahm's situation, but my understanding is that the PGA does not require testing for players who are vaccinated.  If Rahm was told he had a close contact that mandated testing that would seem to infer he isn't vaccinated?

I guess that could be right?  I also think he had COVID before?

I don't feel bad for Rahm in the least. Get the eff'n vaccine already.

I love it, I got Morikawa. Gives me major life.

Standard quarantine puts Rahm right up to the Us Open

Is it possible Brooks and Bryson are conspiring to get the $5 million bonus?

Steadied himself a bit while Cantlay has had similar struggles and no one has surged from the back.

3 holes left to win.

Brutal loss for Lexi Thompson at the USOpen.  Ouch.  :(

An Olympic tradition.   Blowing big leads on Sunday.

Playing Pinehurst #2

My over/under is 126

My goal is to shoot 36 over which would be  a 108, which would be getting somewhere near the green in regulation and then 4 to get it in the hole. Which would be a herculean effort for me.

Enjoy #2. It is definitely in my top five favorite golf courses I have played.

The course was as lush as I have ever seen it. Definitely needed the caddies. Could get it around the green in regulation, but the Greens were very difficult to putt and chipping was impossible.

Overall, I got the crap kicked out of me by #2.  I got lucky and got two natural pars so that helped our team. But the rest of the course I was double and triple bogey every hole.  Although I played the same ball the whole round which is crazy considering how high a score I shot.

I am very jealous that you played there yesterday. It has been quite some time since I have been to Pinehurst, but it was yearly trip for about 15 years in my younger days. Glad you had fun!!
