I am probably going to start trying out irons after spring break.   I don't know that I need more distance.   I would just like some more forgiveness and consistency.   Where did you land on irons, goose?

No.   Hell, no.  Not enough game.

Just went for a driver fitting.   The one that I had the best numbers with would have cost me $100 per yard gained and per yard closer to the center line.    Meh.    The dispersion pattern was basically a single line, but no miracle stick.

Club head won't make a ton a difference but getting in the right shaft will. Since I went to Accra Tour Z TZ6 on all my woods I added 25-30 yards plus a much tighter dispersion. The shaft is even 1.5-2" shorter than stock since I am 5-7" on a good day. Worth the pennies IMO.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Remember, Callaway doesn't make a blade.

I’ve been playing MP-33s in the few holes I’ve got in this year. Such fun when you pure a blade.

They’ll help the ball striking and lessons will be learned.

6 rounds in.  All in the 70s.  Most in the wind.   Love hitting 3/4 knock down pitching wedges from 80 yards into the wind.

Keep your blades.   Give me my hybrids.

I went into the fitting hoping the Titleist T200's would be the sticks I ended up with, but I trusted the Trackman and the guy fitting me and went with Taylor Made P790's. I actually like the look of them better and pretty jacked for them to arrive at my house in June.

Are fittings still free when you purchase the clubs from them? And did you get or ask for a ball fitting while on the Trackman?

The fitting was free. I did not ask on the ball fitting.

Really like the update to the P790s. Slick looking club.

Is Speith officially "back"?  I haven't watched him very much the past few months.

Good time for him to find his game.

I'm going all in on Rory to win The Masters this week. Looking forward to a fun week of golf and great news on the recruiting/transfer front at MU.

Curious why you’re going all in on Rory?

Rico

I like Rory because he really is coming in as an underdog, in regards to the odds. The past handful of years he has been a big storyline and pressure of winning has been high. I think he goes back to us swing, not the Bryson swing for the fences and gets it done. I think flying under the radar is going to help him this week.

I'm on board with all of that, Goose. Big fan of Rory, and hoping for a big week for our alma mater.

With Rory, though, concerned that his realization that he shouldn't try to out-DeChambeau golf's biggest hitter might require a bit of a mental and physical breaking-in period.

So while I'd love to see Rory win, I'm thinking maybe Dustin Johnson again. I just about never predict these right, though.

I had my first two-birdie round in many years today - part of a par-birdie-bogey-birdie stretch that for a hack like me is akin to winning a major.
