Blaine McAllister, Mac O'Grady, Notah Begay.   I think Notah had a bullseye putter and alternated R/L handed, depending on the break of the putt.   I have been putting left hand low for 25 years.   Being somewhat ambidextrous, it felt natural as soon as I started.

Reed with another shady move Saturday. Glad to see his round torpedo after that.

Like a wrestling heel, it won't affect him long.   But yes, karma bit him a little.

To be fair to Reed, it looks like Rory did the same thing. Granted, Rory's reputation is really good compared to Reed's. Both balls bounced, so maybe Reed's actually was embedded.

tower912

I know that Reed has a clear conscience.   The optics look bad because the video showed the ball bounce.   He completely believes he handled it correctly.

Spaniel with a Short Tail

NBC analysts unanimously trashed Reed for what he did. Didn't like Reed playing with the lie before the decision. Kind of gave Rory a pass based on reputation.

Fixed it.

Reed sucks as a human. If he wasn't such trash scum he could be the actual peoples champ when just looking at his game. He's poofy short hitter who isn't a stellar irons guy but he a wizard scrambler who is putts lights out. He seemingly plays like the every man but holy hell him and Justine are just hot garbage.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Golf has their heel.    During the Ryder Cup, it is Poulter or Sergio.    Week in, week out, it is Patrick Reed.

Has anyone tried the Costco putter or wedges?

I'm potentially in the market for a new putter. Also, what's the advantage of that huge grip?

I've been using an old ping anser for 20+ years. No reason to need to switch, but if it helps, why not?

MuggsyB

Tower, have you played Spyglass?  I'm hoping to get on 1/2 off in a few weeks.

tower912

Muggsy, no.

Jesmu84, huge grip theoretically helps take the wrists out of the stroke.    And putting is as much belief as it is equipment.

That explains why I've always been a good putter.  Although I'm not sure you can teach touch Tower?   I never had a problem lag putting or with the floater a la Tony Parker.  I also have a wicked slice dropshot in tennis. Maybe somebody up there is helping me out and compensating for my diminutive stature.

If I had Woosy's pop??   Uh-Oh.  It would be very similar to Happy G learning how to putt.

I've played Spyglass, Spanish Bay and Pebble.  All the same weekend. Stayed at the Inn at Spanish Bay. Golf nirvana.

Spring for the fore caddy.

My favorite of the three was actually Spanish Bay but they are all close to perfection.

Before you check in at the pro shop stop at the financing department and take out a home equity loan. I played a few years back and I can only imagine how costly it is now.

anyone else in a golf pool where you pick one player to win each week and can't reuse that player again for rest of season?  I'm wondering who I should pick at the waste management open.

That sounds fun.

Too bad Phil isn't playing (last I heard, anyway). He has had success there and you probably wouldn't pick him otherwise.

How 'bout Kuchar or Fowler? Goodness knows neither will be the right choice for any of the majors!

I'm looking at Will Zalatoris, Max Homa and Russel Henley for longer odds at WMPO.

Hideki always plays well here.

I looked at all those names and went with Daniel Berger.  Currently tied for 11th

Yup. I am in one every year like this.

Goes off money earned with some side pots as well.

Went Rahm right off the bat.

When I lived in Chicago, we had 3 regulars who went golfing every Friday from mid-April to mid-November. We rotated the fourth. One was a local sportswriter of very small stature who nonetheless could hit the ball a ton because he had perfect mechanics. We called him Woosie. (Or, alternately, The Wee Welshman).

I miss those games. I often was the least proficient golfer in the group and the other guys liked to put together all kinds of crazy betting games. Before we'd start, I'd say: "At the end, just tell me how much I owe everybody."

It's 2.5 rounds of golf, but....

I really hope this is Spieth getting back to being a top flight golfer.

Should be a fun head to head match up today.   Not sure who I am rooting for.    Probably won't know until I actually start watching.     Maybe Koepka shoots his 61 today and makes it really fun.
