They are a great family. For a time I also thought little Jon was BD as well.

Sorry to hear the news.  When he posted, people sat up in their chairs.  RIP.

(I was almost certain that BD was Fr. Wild)

Really sorry to hear this. He was a great source of Marquette info, and from my limited crossover with him--a really nice person. He seemed to notice the small things, from a random pm sending condolences to giving me hole in the wall suggestions for a good spot to eat in the middle of coastal Alabama (named Big Daddy's...), he gave this board a nice community feel.

Missed his presence for a while now on Scoop. He will be greatly missed.

Big Daddy, Pat McComis.

I knew Pat, his parents, and family from frosh year.  Our parents were friends too.

Pat was a rable rouser, extrodinare. The sh1t he gave Flo, the dorm Czar at Schroeder was epic.

Pat and his parents loved Marquette. Ann and Chuck donated to the Al, and Pat has an endowed athletic scholarship to honor his mom and dad.

Beyond that, Pat and his parents were incredible regular people.  His dad flew a Dauntless at the battle of Midway.  He also earned decorations for his part in Taffy 3. Look it up.

Pat, for his part, raised a family, then adopted 4 brothers from inner city Milwaukee, and made them his sons.  Outstanding young men.

My heart goes out to his bride, Ronda.  Ronda and Pat, that’s a story for another day!

Sorry if my spelling and grammar is is off, just a little weepy right now.  I’m hopeful Pat saw my last text to him last week....a picture of a Marquette Special with cheese and onions.   No sh1t.

Pat was an important part of the Underboard. The UB misses you Pat!

RIP, say hi Al and Blondie for me.

Thanks for posting that.

Still actually need Fubo or a special cable package for Pac12 network, oddly enough.

I heard he got a spot in heaven between Al and Hank!

Al was chewing his ear off until BD asked about the 1974 NCAA Championship! LOL

Rest in peace, BD. You're elsewhere now, but not forgotten here!

Did not know Pat but anyone who loves God, Marquette, MU BB and adopts 4 children out of the foster care system deserves a special place in heaven.
Prayers.

Yes, THE big daddy.  The guy that the "fans" on the board drove off.  RIP BD.

Edit:  not accusing you, jesmu.

Am so very sorry and sad to hear of the loss of Big Daddy. Thoughts and Prayers are with and for, Big Daddy and his Family. Am sorry “fans” of this board drove him off this board. RIP Big Daddy. We are better than that.  We Are Marquette. Thank You and  Awesome well written tribute written by Real Chili. Although did notice Big Daddy presently has a relative attending ND. But Agree Believe Big Daddy would say ND sucks. Big Daddy seemed like a nice, great, kind, and generous person. The MU Community misses Big Daddy. RIP Again Big Daddy.

Never met him but Chili was kind enough to send me his obit. The smile in his picture told me all I ever needed to know about the man.

Wish I’d had the pleasure...

He was an '84 alum.  Moved into Schroeder in fall of '80.  I "think" he was 4th floor.

It was Covid.
