A couple thoughts on Trump's return to the WH. Watching his return, it is clear that although he is doing well, he is suffering from pneumonia.

He had to stop on more than one occasion on his walk back, to me it look like that was to catch his breath. Even standing on the balcony it was clear that he was working hard to breath.

Given that this is still very early in the COVID time course and they have used every treatment known to man on him, it is slightly concerning.

Hopefully he has indeed clinically improved and it isn't just "apparent" improvement due to the anti-inflammatory effects of Dex.

Next couple days are still very important.

I read a good chunk of them yesterday.  And then noticed the change to his twitter profile that used to say attending physician at Walter Reed yesterday and then no longer says that today 🤷‍♂️

So the higher-ups got rid of him or told him not to tweet on behalf of WR because they didn't like what he said? Big shocker. At the time he said it, he was a staff physician at Walter Reed. In all likelihood, he still is.

It isn't the first time he has been seen walking unsteadily in public.

My wife worked oncology for a few years so she's got a lot of experience working with very sick people. She was shocked at how bad he looked and also mentioned that it looked like he may have pneumonia.

He's an old man who has covid. Even though he says it's nothing to be scared of, of course he's sick.

Nah, that was a shlt show.  He was clearly struggling to breath, and was in a lot of pain.  But he got what he wanted, his folks saw him walk in and they have enough fuel for another day.

Nah, he is struggling. See link below. But that was to be expected. He is 74 with COVID. Right now he is actually doing pretty well, but that still means he has a serious and potentially deadly condition.

Although I think it was incredibly reckless to be up there without a mask. I give him credit for trying to project a position of strength, despite the fact that he is obviously struggling, and in pain.

If he had just worn a mask, for the staged video. Not wearing a mask was reckless and puts peoples lives in danger.

I think trump has a tough guy complex so when he didn't serve in the military, join the police or fire dept, didn't box, didn't play football, rugby, hockey, lacrosse, etc. he still had this desperate desire to be viewed as a tough guy. So he's trying to show the world he's tougher than sickness and doesn't need a mask or hospital. And rational people know it's idiotic but his base eats that sh*t up

Some Trump apologists, like Pace, try to frame all of their guy's eff-ups as "messaging" errors.

But they aren't just messaging eff-ups. When it comes to COVID-19, they often are willful disregard for human life.

For example, in yet the latest example of how poorly he has handled the pandemic and how he is personally responsible for Americans getting sick, getting hospitalized and dying ...

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/05/health/contact-tracing-white-house.html

Despite almost daily disclosures of new coronavirus infections among President Trump's close associates, the White House is making little effort to investigate the scope and source of its outbreak.

The White House has decided not to trace the contacts of guests and staff members at the Rose Garden celebration 10 days ago for Judge Amy Coney Barrett, where at least eight people, including the president, may have become infected, according to a White House official familiar with the plans.

Instead, it has limited its efforts to notifying people who came in close contact with Mr. Trump in the two days before his Covid diagnosis Thursday evening. It has also cut the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has the government's most extensive knowledge and resources for contact tracing, out of the process.

Contact tracing is an essential piece of any outbreak investigation and is a key to stopping the virus from spreading further, especially after a potential "super spreader" event where many people may have been infected.

I mean, it's borderline criminal negligence on his part. And he actually flaunts it.

Doesn't care that Herman Cain died at one of his super-spreader events. Doesn't care that he went to a fundraiser infected with a highly contagious virus that he himself called "deadly stuff." Doesn't care that he exposed Secret Service agents to it so he could have a photo op. Doesn't care that downplaying it yet again likely will result in more American deaths.

"They are dying. That's right. It is what it is. Trump 2020!"

Quite a campaign slogan.

that whole spectacle was propaganda to a level even Kim Jong Un would consider excessive.

and never mind that he has access to medical care no "regular American" that is a part of his cultish base could ever dream of. They just eat up the "Trump is Superman" rhetoric.

Fixed.

Anyhow, it's been mentioned here.  But either his condition is more advanced (i.e. - time-frame) than we've been told, or his doctors administered Dex WAY too early.  In a 4-day period he received the Regeneron, and Remdesivir and Dexamethasone treatments.  Assuming the NYT has it right, the first two should be administered early, and Dex later.  Getting them all at the same time is....????  At least, as current science understands.

That does seem crazy.

But I doubt the accuracy of that article. I mean, they didn't even mention the hydroxy/Lysol cocktail.

Stephen Miller positive. Also there apparently was a gold star family event on Sunday after the rose garden ceremony.  May be responsible for both Trumps comments to fox about the military and the pentagon outbreak reported today.
