Ya....he woke up.  This is the best chance an American male has a chance for a gs title in a long time.  I don't think Alcaraz is anywhere close to top form. 

Apparently the entire area of the US Open, including inside Ashe, smells like a Ganja Den btw.

It sure appears that way.  I think these courts are fast enough where both Tiafoe and Shelton could inflict significant damage.  The question is whether they're patient and consistent enough?  Medvy seems to be striking the ball well.

Keys' collapse was even more impressive. 5-0 lead in the third set ... then lost 7 straight games. It's probably happened before, but I'd never seen it. At one point as it was slipping away from her, she got so frustrated that she repeatedly bashed herself in her head with her racquet.

He just has it mentally. Real impressive. I don't think he can beat the top 3 right now but I wouldn't bet against him against anyone else. Mensik played great for the majority of that match.

Tien has played well but he's only done what he's supposed to do:  beat players that are not as good as him.  His next match against Khachanov will be a test because that's exactly the type he has trouble with:  Big Serve / Powerful baseline.  I predict several more Americans out in R4.  No way Paul beats Alcaraz, Medvedev will beat Tiafoe, Etcheverry beats Michelson and Khachanov has a very good chance to beat Tien.  Leaves only Shelton.

Paul realistically should have a chance against a rusty Alcaraz.  He's capable of keeping the ball in play and frustrating Carlos?  That said, you're probably right that Tommy's mental meltdowns will end his tournament.  Regardless of Carlos' level.

His ceiling is too low right now to beat the top 3. Gotta improve that serve

Medvedev just plays tennis the right way. Tiafoe should know his place

Color me surprised Tiafoe won in straight sets. Medvedev must have let him win. I'm going with Michelson in the quarters though, he just has the intangibles that Tiafoe doesn't

Congrats to Tiafoe and Michelson.  Two Gargantuan wins and onto the Quarters.

Alcaraz disposed of Tommy Paul quite easily despite being nowhere near 100%.  That said, Rusedski's comments have not aged well.
