His video shows why Kobe was so instrumental. Everyone's got the Kobe jump shot now.

Thought the exact same thing.

My favorite part of the video was the passing.

Yessir. Very impressive. Excellent court awareness and vision, good imagination, and passes right on the money.

Very exiting. Love the video as well. Seems like a great guy on and off the court.

I agree.  Congrats to the staff for landing Stevie, and of course to Stevie himself.

@BenSteeleMJS: After committing to Marquette this week, Stevie Mitchell jumps to No. 90 on the ESPN top 100 for the 2021 class. #mubb

Wojo has brought the Duke recruiting ranking effect to MU!

The Big East

Very enthusiastic about our latest prospect.

Stevie and Kam have the potential of being a formidable backcourt in the Big East in a few years.

I think they will be a very good backcourt combo, if they stay all four years.

I think they'll be an even better backcourt if they leave to be lottery picks after 2 or 3 years.

They'd be the best backcourt if they had the option to leave and be lottery picks after 1 year but elected to stay all four years
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

That happens....not.

I don't think Bilsu or anyone is suggesting that that Mitchell and Jones will go pro early. I'd assume its a reference to the increased regularity of transfers and the anticipated move to instant transfers. There's is no reason to think that either Mitchell or Jones will be good enough to be drafted. If they are, that will be a very pleasant surprise.

If they turnout to be that good and with Lewis and Garcia as Sophomores, wow! Just dreaming a bit.

Tamu you read it exactly right.

Was just reviewing the posts on this topic and came away with the impression that this was the most underwhelming response by Scoopers to a quality commitment that I could recall. I'm blaming the pandemic and the attendant uncertainty about the upcoming season.

It is the middle of the summer and the traditional dead period on this site. Lots of people don't pay attention till the kids are back in school.

I think those who have been tuning in to  Scoop are bullish on Stevie's prospects.

We're Marquette fans, isn't our nature to be bullish on all of our recruits, at least until they set foot on the court?

Really looking forward to seeing Stevie in action for MU. Have a very good feeling about a back court  of Stevie and Kam. Two guys who are winners and understand how to play team ball.

I'm blaming the uncertainty about the upcoming season.

This is what I am concerned about.  Should the season get cancelled (likely), how will the makeup of our team and all teams change?  Under normal circumstances, I would be much more excited.

Good comments about Mitchell from my cousin who watched him against my nephew:

"I watched him play 5 or 6 games up close, summer league and regular season. Very smooth player with great shooting and passing skills, gets to the hoop with ease."

@DushawnLondon1: Marquette commit Stevie Mitchell showed out today in a 71-64 win against Team Richmond finishing with 20 points on 9-16 shooting. Mitchell has a very composed game and can score in a variety of ways. https://twitter.com/DushawnLondon1/status/1294685774621937664/photo/1
