Davate would be great. I miss that guy.

We saw Davante play a few years back when the TBT was in Peoria.

But he would be coming in from Japan, so that's quite a trip. He's a star there; maybe he doesn't really feel the need to participate.
Have some patience, FFS.

Davante did well in the TBT. He  has found the perfect home in Japan.

I can’t imagine a guy who just retired after making $200M in salary alone (and who knows how much more in endorsements) and has made appearances on a number of TV shows as an analyst, including the NBA on TNT, would have any interest in quarantining himself for weeks to play for a chance at like $100K.

The only way Wade is playing is for a significant ownership stake in the TBT.

Jamil Wilson has also done very well in the TBT format and glad we have him back.

The one thing our team has going for it is great team chemistry. The ball moves around well and the guys seem to get clean looks. Acker is still a very fun player to watch. Hopefully Diener is in enough shape to give some quality minutes, he really knows how to quarterback an offense with talented guys around him.

TBT just announced the tournament is July 4-14 in Ohio. Love how they are starting up before the NBA or NHL. Will get lots of attention on ESPN.

Our recent strong performance in this tournament  is sure to get a lot of attention. One of the nice things about having Luke on the team, is we now have an inside threat and that can really open things up for the all the long range bombers we have.

Wade would never be playing for the money (at least the prize money), and would definitely only be in for a few games.  But I have no doubt Li Ning would give him a nice check if he were to play, particularly because this event is taking place before any major pro sports kick off.  I'm also sure that many teams will utilize this platform to highlight the BLM cause, especially given that they're likely not restricted in the same way they would be by the NCAA, NBA, etc.

Bracket format will give top 8 teams a bye. No inside info but fully expect Marquette is one of those 8 teams based on prior year performance.

Not a good look when he’s said he wants to play and the program currently has some bad blood with his dad

Swaggy has been playing incredible well in Europe. Would be great if they could find room for him on the team.

the team tweeted the roster isn't final yet. So I bet we see some good adds to what's already listed.

Does the TBT have anything to do with the current Marquette program?

I'm not being snide. I seriously don't know.

The GM If the team has some kind of Media association with the school , MU and Wojo have been supportive .

Thanks for the answer.

I like to think that the way a bunch of ex-MU players build a roster for a made-for-TV event won't influence the playing decisions of 16- and 17-year-old kids or their coaches.

I mean it’s all one program or “family” as Wojo likes to promote.

Also, Duane tweeted something along the lines of: hometown kid gets left off the roster again with some emojis.

I’m sure it’s not that big of a deal but this could be a small step in getting tight with his dad’s AAU program again

This year it probably wouldn't matter if they did. With only 24 teams, you'll need some serious heft just to get the invite.

I think JJJ would perfect for this team. His ability to create steals would be very beneficial . Also He was very good at making those inside feeds to Luke.

Who's Duane going to supplant on the team? Travis? DJO? Buycks? Three guys who all have NBA pedigree (as bad as DJO's was)

Rowsey and Acker are better shooters, So not them.

Only one I'd suggest Duane replacing is Derrick Wilson (Omg I sound like Ners)

I’ll go out on a limb and say Wojo isn’t selecting the MU TBT team. So if Duane Wilson’s dad is going to get butthurt over Duane not being invited to the TBT team so be it.

I also think Duane's departure from MU was a lot more amicable than some here have suggested.

Yeah he appeared on some MU podcast where he didn't seem upset at all.
