But he can still get into college. Reminds me of Gary Cole from Racine. Probably would have been a Warrior, but he wasn't too accomplished in the classroom. Somehow got into UW-Parkside (insert joke here) and ended up in the NBA for a bit before playing overseas for a many years. Considered by many to be the best offensive player out of Racine (Chones, Caron Butler, among others), he scored the 1st points for the Dallas Mavs.

The classic Urlacher paradox. Urlacher was borderline brain dead off the field but he was easily one of the most brilliant football minds I've ever seen. Absolute savant

Cause there are pre-snap reads, moving parts, defensive formation bluffs to read, all while factoring in the routes your WRs are running.

But Watson has a 20 if I recall and Mahomes a 24, which is the average for a QB if I recall. Peyton and Brees were both 28s I think.

Recklessly simplistic? Perhaps, but to prove the point that a test isn't the answer. A few notorious examples where even a 30+ Wonderlic couldn't salvage even these high first-rounders:

Christian Ponder: Drafted #12 with a Wonderlic of 35. Career RTG 75.9; 38 TD; 36 INT.
Joey Harrington: Drafted #3 with a Wonderlic of 32. Career RTG 69.4; 79 TD; 85 INT.
David Klingler: Drafted #3 with a Wonderlic of 30. Career RTG 65.1; 16 TD; 21 INT.

And then Brett Favre won 3 MVPs and went to the HOF with a Wonderlic of 22.

Yeah, my only point was that this shows that despite a middling Wonderlic score, Watson definitely is not lacking in football intelligence.
