GooooMarquette

Just curious, as someone commented last night that it would be useless for the BE to ban fans starting today because most fans had already traveled to NYC. That undoubtedly is true for the teams that played yesterday, but my suspicion is that most other teams' fans would be traveling today (or may have already canceled due to covid-19 concerns.

My suspicion is that most MU fans from outside NYC would be traveling today, so there was still time to cancel...or that they had already canceled over covid-19 concerns. Amiright?

Leaving NYC now. Arrived yesterday. Fewer people on the street today. Cutting our losses and heading home.

Was in NYC for a conference.  My first trip, but for those I was with they felt like crowds were thinner than normal, especially considering the weather was so nice.  My flight to Milwaukee was about half full and I made it through check in/security in <15 min at LGA.

I also saw a woman walking her dog with a mask on.  To be clear, the Boston Terrier was wearing the mask.

Arrived last night.  Two people were canceling their hotel reservation while I checked in.  Only have seen one person with a mask.
When we stop talking, really bad stuff happens.

Amtrak refunded train tickets with no questions asked.

Props to Amtrak

I rode Amtrak from Chicago, I was the only person in the car for much of the trip.

not NYC but my assistant was supposed to fly to Chicago tonight.  Frontier said, "sorry, no refunds."

We had flights Wednesday morning that we canceled Tuesday early evening. AA and Hilton treated us right. The concern then was not so much getting Coronavirus but getting stuck with a 14 day quarantine in NYC. Plus we figured they would start closing tourist attractions.

That still doesn't make it Clear.

In all honesty, I think Frontier goes under from this. Big airlines will likely be bailed out, as they are essential.

Frontier is not.

For those that made it to NYC, I hear beer is full price.

I went with two buds.  Last nights games were fantastic.  The announcer and decision is bullshmoit.  Everyone was pissed to the max.  Like sheep following the lead ran.

Flew into teterboro yesterday.  I've never seen it so empty and I go to NY probably 3-5 times a month

In spite of a work travel ban, I'm actually in Weehawken, NJ (right across the Hudson from NYC) right now, had a work VP demand I go see a C level potential new customer...anyway, my flight last night from ORD was maybe 20 people on it. In a perfect world I probably would have gone to the game tonight, but I've never seen NYC be a ghost town like this.

Ironically, the C level guy I met with today implemented for his company a "work from home mandate" starting tomorrow. Just a surreal experience right now.

My wife and kid spent the day in NYC yesterday.   Did mention that it was less congested than usual.

We had a special non-cancelable rate for several nights at our hotel. After everything started to go down, they treated us well and gave us a voucher good for the unused nights for a year.
In 24 hrs. in NYC saw only 2 people (both Asian) and no dogs with masks. Traffic was busy both days but there was quite obviously a marked decrease in foot traffic in midtown.

Who's the Scoop member in 4C (first class) on the 6:40 flight from EWR to ORD? I'm two rows behind you.

I mean, perhaps it'd be easier to get sick by doing this, but it's still possible to talk to people.

Of course if you follow Colorado guidance, you should be "ski" feet away.

He's not sure if 4C is a projo or nojo.  He's tryna screen first
