Cruella Pavill(ion)
« on: February 12, 2020, 09:47:35 PM »
1.   Why does Nova play anywhere else?   Hate that place.
2.  Jayce has many virtues.   Defending quick bigs is not one of them.
3.  Had a forward on Markus and as soon as the high screen was set they sold out on the trapping double team with two long active defenders.  Nice defense.  Jay can coach.   Fouling up 3.
4.   Hope Markus didn't hurt himself chasing down his late miss.   Ugly fall. Limped afterwards.  Short armed two free throws.  Brain fart free throw.
5.  Cain gets the steal, at half court I yelled 'Stop!'. My wife looks up just in time to see the scud.   'How did you know'?     Honey, nothing good happens when he tries to dribble.   Maybe next year.
6.  It took over 12 minutes to make a basket that wasn't point blank.   If you can't shoot, you don't win.   Open looks, lay ups, dunks, contested looks.   Punishing that rim.   You could hear the clangs.
7.  Wojo so ticked he sat 4 starters at once.   Message sent.
8.  Cain didn't let a couple mistakes bother him tonight.   Nice job, young man.   Might have been the best half of his career so far.
9.  And his effort inspired the team.   With as bad as the team started both halves, they fought.  Had chances.  Dug too big a hole.
10.  17-7, 7-5.   Momma said there would be days.like these.    Bounce back this weekend. DOH.  TUESDAY.

Great comeback, but ultimately, too many missed shots on good looks to come away with what could have been a huge road win. (shoulder shrug emoji) Keep protecting home court, and we'll be just fine.

if they start either half even OK...and (4) but really 3 straight misses from Koby and MH that will not happen again

Proud of the guys for fighting back in a tough environment. Would have been easy to fold after that late 3 to put it to 10. Tough break on the Markus free throws, but a point loss at Nova is nothing to be ashamed of.

Nice effort by the team. It wasn’t their night from the get go but they turned it around and almost took the game. Earlier in the year that’s a 20 point loss. Really think a lot of memories will still be made this season.

First four minutes of the second half was brutal.

Really proud of the effort though.

I don’t like losing, but that was a hell of an effort tonight. Would have been nice if a couple of those missed free throws in the last 2 minutes went in. MU was on the verge of getting the stuffing kicked out of them, but they battled hard tonight.

Just felt like the Prov game where they couldnt get over the hump. So it goes. Team has fight.

Cain really had a nice 2nd half. His play got the comeback started.

Question: was that a travel on Koby?

Why some people get confused by fans expressing frustration during and after losses continues to blow my mind. If the game thread hurts your feelings, just stay away. It's that simple.

First 30 minutes were frustrating, but they never gave up. Also, it didn’t take Markus going bonkers to get back into it.

Nova did us some favors with some really quick 3s.

They showed a lot of fight.

Should Markus have missed that free throw? Are the odds of getting the rebound better than the odds of Nova missing a FT?

Major ups to Jamal for his play tonight. I think that kid is really going to take his game to the next level as a senior; you can sense the confidence is building.

Never thought we would win. But impressive to battle back and make an attempt.

Markus free throw shoot even if he was shook up is weird this year.....mid 80s is still good but many more misses for him.

1 pt road loss to Nova wont damage our NET. Lets beat Creighton.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

They would have had to miss 2. Miss 1 and it's a 3 point game again and Nova fouls.

I’m one who has criticized Wojo in recent years and defended the case that he does deserve to feel decent criticism...but holy crap that thread is a wastebin of poor hot takes and purposely misleading claims by posters who must be watching the game cast instead of the game.

The offense looks significantly better, much more and better ball movement, and not for one second did I question the team’s hustle or effort watching.

Could have won by 10. (I mean make 2 of the first 9 3’s we missed, or any shot...)

Could have lost by 20.
(I mean Nova crushed our will. Wojo and the team fought hard as hell)

Great fight. This was house money.

We missed open 3’s and FT’s. But we never gave up.

Proud of the team.

Classy move by Markus that I didn’t even really think about players doing until now. Telling Jay in the handshake line how it’s been a pleasure playing against him over the years just in case they don’t match up again.
