Wring out a Hoya
« on: January 18, 2020, 03:15:00 PM »
1.  Can Theo breathe without getting called for a foul?
2.   Jayce is stepping up.
3.  McEwen was doing so well other than shooting until the last 3 minutes.  Thanks for the late free throws.
4.  I despise McClung.  But I question Ewing's choice to sit him late.
5.  Almost saw no bigs for anybody by the end.
6.  Like Jan Brady kind of said, 'Markus, Markus, Markus.'.  Except for free throws.  If his 3 off the offensive board had gone with 3 minutes to go, it would have been the dagger.
7.  Greg, heal faster.  Need the depth.
8.  Wojo went to the slowdown too soon.
9.  Free throws matta late.
10.  Wojo fouled late up 3.  It worked.
11.  Conference road wins are golden.   Grab it and run with no apologies.

Ball don’t lie on McClung’s flop in the last minute.

Thought we played well. Thought Georgetown just hit some very tough shots. Yertseven hitting 15 foot fadeaways and two threes and Wayab hitting 3 well defended turnaround jumpers. I haven’t watched any of Georgetown this year until today, so maybe they actually make plays like that, but felt like those were shots that had some prayers answered.

Put some money on the moneyline today. Never a doubt, hey?

Also, touchy whistle all day, but it went both ways.

Bailey was a rather quiet but very steady force that game. Hit the glass and was defending well. Glad he's a soph. Jayce has been exactly what MU needed and it came it a great time. Markus, well, incredible as usual.

I don't have a problem with Mcclung. I don't see any attitude issues or anything. He's a fun player to watch when he's not against MU.

Huge win.

At least Koby is clutch at the line.

Markus is Markus.

Theo also screwed while the Turk coulda had 10 fouls the way the game was called.

McClung is a massive bi tch.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Markus misses 2 FTs on a trip and then Jayce hits 2 FTs on a trip.  Who'd a thunk that.

Team showed some moxy after giving up the 7 point lead late to pull it out.  Back to level in conference.

Referreeing sucked on both sides.  Some really dumb fouls called out there on both teams.

Very nice road win. Bailey continues to improve and making a difference. He is becoming a very good rebounder.

I thought so too. They hit numerous shots with a Marquette player in their face. But Theo was awful again.

Out of 9 fouls by Jace and Theo, I don't think even 1 was defending the rim. That just can't happen game after game.

Nice win.  Markus got his in rhythm.  Rest of the boys stepped up. We are becoming a good team.  Credit to GT, they truly have a top 25 offense.

Those 3 points the ref took away from Markus in the first half would have made this one much easier to win......

Great job fellas!

4. I think it was an offense - defense thing

8. I think He was trying to reduce possessions to preserve a big.

GY hit a lot of tough shots. Not looking forward to the game in MKE. But road wins sure feel nice

Markus is fantastic. I thought Georgetown played well. Marquette had to beat them.

Stupid to say every game BUT I will.  St. John’s is a must win at home if we are goi g to be upper half this year.  Good to have some momentum.  Let’s burry the Johnnies!

Marquette showed a lot of grit. It seems like every game with Georgetown is a fun one to watch.

MU beat the Hoyas despite our bigs being in phantom foul trouble. Despite a Markus three being taken off the board.  Despite McClung getting BS weak calls. Despite Gtown being on fire from 3pt range. Despite some crucial missed free throws. Despite being on the road.

The team overcame a lot today to get a win. Great game gentlemen!

1. No...his reputation precedes him. Similar to Heldt getting called for the pick before he even set it.
3. If I see Koby throw another cross court pass into the 3rd row I’m gonna scream.
6. Yes.
10. Just heard Wojo say on post game that under 10 seconds up by 3 points...they will foul. ? Seems contrary to the PC game.

I think the announcers said 25 minutes of game time between turnovers. One of Markus' to's was where Theo did not roll to the basket. Great game. Both teams played well. I didn't see any douchey actions by McClung.

10. There was 18 seconds left on the clock in the PC game. The shot went up with 9 seconds left. There was an instant under 10 seconds to foul before the shot went up, but these were different scenarios.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Or his team didn’t execute it properly vs PC.
