Would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Wojo make comments like this sometime after a game. I would gain so much more respect from him, because it's being honest rather than "we didn't execute the game plan well enough". These were some quotes from Roy Williams after yesterday's game vs Clemson...

"We've had some great moments as a coach, and right now I'd say this is my lowest one because losing this game was my fault," Williams said. "Told them if I die tomorrow or 20 years from now, that'll be the biggest regret I had in 32 years as a coach. Cause these kids really need a win. And their coach let them down today."

Williams didn't stop there, either.

"Gotta tell Bubba he should probably fire me, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea," Williams said, folding up a stat sheet to put in his jacket pocket. "The coach is supposed to help his kids. I didn't help them very much.''

I wouldn't be so quick to credit Williams.  He can certainly afford to be so candid if he's had a bad game.  He knows perfectly well he's untouchable given his accomplishments.  No coach is going to make remarks like that if he has any doubt about total job security.

I really can't imagine a high major being interested in Wojo

I doubt he would be a primary target, but he is the type of coach a program looks at after striking out on their top choices.

The stupid is deep here.  Roy Williams, untouchable makes a comment....about 10 coaches in college basketball can make this comment and that is it.  Get with reality.
"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. Do you think he is too stubborn to listen to his bench? Some of his assistants have to recognize his flaws .

Maybe they're part of the problem.

All those programs, with the exception of South Carolina, haven't even hit the levels we're not satisfied with here. If Wojo delivered a NCAA bid they'd be doing cartwheels.

So would Marquette.

This is correct.

I appreciate Fluffy BM's attempt at career planning to help our coach depart, but .. zero of those teams would hire a guy coming off a 7-11 BE season, which Bartovik now predicts.

Wojo's top bullet point on his resume is "If you want a clean program and get your program to complete for NIT bids, I AM YOUR GUY."

I'm not sure "Fluffy BM" is a nickname I'm on board with.

My initial response was yeah, I did do cartwheels.  But thinking back, we'd just lost 5 of 6, MU had just blown chance after chance to win the BE, MU was headed for a bid, and at the time, it appeared we were headed for losing 6 of 7.

So .. it was kind of one of those cartwheels a 50 year old guy would do, flopping on his side.

They're nearly 40 years apart. It's way easier for a coach like Williams to say something like that. Almost a plea for sympathy if you ask me. Not saying Wojo shouldn't accept more responsibility at times but those Roy quotes are a little much.

Wojo is already set for life.  His wife is a doctor, Wojo has made a ton of money already...that isn't really at issue here.  So many people cannot wait to start the process over again and repeat the same process over and over and over again.

I'll hold my comments on Wojo until next year to see if they start playing like a team instead of a 1 feeder system

Actually, I think the opposite may be true. Are any of his assistants good teachers? They all seem like great guys and great recruiters, but what do we know about their coaching / teaching abilities?

Do we have a defensive specialist on the bench? How about a guy to teach post moves? I really don't know the answer to this.

Dear lord man, you really are the most supreme bootlicker I've ever encountered. I would maybe understand it if you had some sort of financial incentive to spend a disproportionate amount of your precious free time stanning online for Crean & Wojo, but the fact that you almost certainly don't leads me to believe you have some deep-seated authority figure issues that you need to get addressed ASAP. Otherwise you'll end up devoting the rest of your life to vociferously defending boring mediocrities that will never see you do so, nor will they give you the pat on the head you so desperately seek. Pathetic!

Are they redoing his office? Because I'm pretty sure the only answer that is accurate is back to Marquette.

Yeah ... I'm starting to wane on the guy, but he's not getting fired and certainly not having the kind of season that's going to land him a comparable gig elsewhere. Plus a top 10 recruiting class (and perhaps better if Mane commits and enrolls) buys him some rope, I'm sure.

No sh*t sherlock..my whole point was Wojo being dead honest and blaming himself rather then his standard "I have to do a better job teaching them" line that he has used. Be honest, say "I f*ucked up..I should have fouled against Providence up 3". Or in other instances.. "our defense wasn't effective in man, so I should have tried a zone, or given the guys something else to work with". He doesn't have to say the fire me part..obviously he isn't going to say that. But just be honest about your true Coaching abilities and let ppl know when you truly F up instead of always saying "we didn't follow the game plan".

How many did Buzz deliver in his time here in the same time frame. How many Sweet 16's?? Tournament wins?? Elite 8's?? Conference championships. I guarantee you you won't answer the question without taking a shot at him in some way about off court crap or him "mailing it in" his last year. Answer the question straight up without that BS. Further, how many did Crean deliver of the same things in the same time frame??

Yes, but when he says it, it feels "canned" rather than genuine. Besides, almost all Coaches use that. Be MORE brutally honest like in my above examples.
