Obviously, there will never be a fan poll for us to truly understand where the majority of people stand.

Obviously. But you'll speculate anyway.

But it's not crazy to draw some conclusions based on what you've seen.

Yes it is, because you haven't seen nearly enough to draw any sane conclusion. Heck, you weren't even there. At least one Scooper who was there said he didn't hear a single boo. Another said he heard one guy boo. A couple others said they heard a "smattering" of boos. A couple others said they heard more boos but nowhere close to even a measurable minority.

I've talked with more fans who are critical of Wojo than fans who approve of how he's done.

Ah, so at least you've done a truly scientific poll. You're right then ... you talked to some people, so therefore it's not speculation at all.

Yesterday Wojo was booed during intros, and I've talked with more fans who are critical of Wojo than fans who approve of how he's done. Based on those things, it seems fair to say that a decent amount of the fanbase isn't in the proJo camp.
That's the inherent danger in pairing confirmation bias with an agenda.
You start to believe your own propaganda.
It's fair to claim that some fans agree with your viewpoint, but to state that the majority are NoJos is unsupported by any available evidence.

82 - I was at the game. I heard the boos. It wasn't overwhelming, but it was definitely audible. I wasn't the only one in my group to notice.

You have your opinions, based largely on your own confirmation bias, and I have mine, also based largely on my confirmation bias. My reasoning is no more flawed than your own.

I apologize for saying you weren't at the game when you were. I for some reason thought I had read you weren't. My bad totally.

The rest of what you say here is absolutely true, ski. Anything either of us declares to be the case on this subject would be nothing more than opinion and/or speculation.

It is disappointing that people who have a common desire (i.e. Marquette winning games and support for the school) must verbally attack each other continuously because they have different opinions. I Thought we were a common fan base with common objectives, that may disagree on some issues, but would allow and respect differing viewpoints.

Once again I am wrong. This is a very ugly side of the Internet which I will have no part.

I'll ask this again, as many posters said they witnessed the booing: Where was the booing coming from? Nova fans? Student section? Sweater vesties? I heard it and it seemed like it was coming from somewhere in the NE section of the FF. It was small but concerted which makes me think it was a group of Nova fans.

1.Great defensive effort.

2. Happy for Kobe.

3. Both teams took (and mostly missed) a lot of bad shots. Some way too early in the shot clock.

Your point 3 was the only real downer for me.  Our second half shot selection was really bad for big chunks of the time.  Understanding time and score is not one of our strengths.  I think Sacar's foul trouble was a big part of this, as once he came back in and drove a bit we did a little better with shot selection.

In addition to our initial effort on D, our defensive rebounding was great with the guards (particularly Markus) helping out.

Nope. It's definitive proof that the majority of our fans dislike Wojo.

I've been to Fiserv twice and don't know it well enough to know which is the NE section.

I was in 212, up pretty high in the nosebleed seats. I heard the boos but none seemed to be coming from anywhere near me. Some or most of it might have been by Nova fans, but some might not have been.

I would describe the booing as faint and brief but audible. Given what I heard, I'd be hard-pressed to say it was being done by even 5% of those in attendance.

In other words, "the majority."

He sat right behind my row. Now I have to meet the Dr.

I didn't hear any booing in section 107

I'm in 107 as well and did hear a bit of the booing.  It wasn't loud by any means, but it was there.  The people next to me also commented on it.  Very disappointing behavior.

Its DJOver

Lets keep in mind that this is also the fanbase the boo'd Derrick, a student athlete that was unsuited for the situation he was in, but did his best, and was by all accounts a good person.  I'd like to think that it is an extreme minority, but I've seen enough evidence to know that there are some POS that attend/root for MU bball.  There was some Wojo booing and some of it was likely from some Nova fans, but there was also some from MU fans as well.  I've heard it multiple times this year, even before Saturday, up in 215.

Sounded to me like the students. I'm in the NE corner (115) and it was just north of us. It wasn't the Nova fans, most are in the front of our section & they were generally quiet during our introductions. Sounded to me like 114 or 113 (which is students).

I was in sec 114. The boos came from the student section on the west side.

I was at the game.  The crowd used to "boo" Crean when they showed him on the board.  I'd categorize the Wojo intro as "apathetic clapping by some" and "mild enthusiasm" for others.  And a whole bunch of people that didn't even realize he was being introduced.

As with many things, people probably heard more of what they wanted to hear.

If that is section 220-218 then yes, that is where the largest contingent of Nova fans were...behind their bench in the lower level too.

114 is not students. 113 is a student section and that is where it came from. To be fair however, there were a lot of gray hairs in that student section on Saturday.

I was at the Marquette bar Kirkwood for the Creighton game, along with my son and a fellow Class of '82er. There were 5 guys at the table next to ours, all from the Class of 2016. (I asked.) They were rude, loud and drunk. And they knew next to nothing about Marquette basketball.

When Bailey missed an early 3-pointer, one of them screamed, "Bailey, you suck! You should NEVER shoot a 3!" I turned to him and said, "Actually, he is shooting 40%-plus from 3, and we need him to take that shot when he's open." To which, the kid replied: "I don't care. He sucks."

When Sacar couldn't catch a pass that was thrown beyond his reach, another of them screamed, "Anim sucks! I wish we had anybody else on the court!" I turned to him and said, "Sacar has been our second-best player, and that wasn't even his turnover." To which, the kid offered some deep, detailed insight: "He blows!"

When they showed Wojo on the screen, one of the kids said, "(Bleeping) loser," and another said, "Fire his azz!"

I'm guessing that was representative of "the majority" that boos Wojo.

Can't blame them though for never being really knowledgeable about the team. they came to MU and experienced an Elite 8 run then had two years of trash and one year of "meh"before leaving.

Gray hairs that went out of their way to buy a ticket to be there.  I am not sure many Wojo-haters would do that.
Have some patience, FFS.

Oh, it's OK to not really be knowledgeable. Lots of folks don't care to immerse themselves in all things Warriors. We Scoopers are the outliers. Most folks are casual fans, they have other interests entirely, etc.

But these young men obviously are big enough fans to have gathered at a Marquette bar dressed head-to-toe in blue and gold. If you don't know what the eff you're talking about, shut the eff up and don't pretend you do.

Drunk sports fanatic FIBs at a bar belligerently and irrationally complaining about their sports team playing poorly. Shocking.

Yeah I'm sure you would never find anyone in Wisconsin drunkenly complaining about the Packers, Brewers or Badgers. Come on, it's not just an Illinois thing it's a sports fan thing
