Within the span of a week we saw MU's floor and ceiling.  Hopefully we can steal a few when we play somewhere in the middle.  Nice win today.  Nova looked overmatched on both ends.

Well said.

The Pro-Jo's told us you can't judge a season on one win, so I won't.  BUT it's nice to beat a Top Ten team in that manner.  Let's keep it rolling vs. The Friar.

1.Great defensive effort.

2. Happy for Kobe.

3. Both teams took (and mostly missed) a lot of bad shots. Some way too early in the shot clock.

They'll be back after the next loss.  They'd rather revel in "being right" than enjoying a fun win.

I guess I am one of the dipsh!ts since I don't like the job Wojo is doing.

In my opinion, the first half effort we saw today SHOULD BE THE NORM, not something that is especially noteworthy.  Especially on defense, which is 100% about effort.  Other coaches get far more consistent effort and intensity, so it's possible.

The fact that Wojo cannot get this level of effort on a remotely consistent basis is what has driven most of us to dipsh!t-dom.

Given the results of the past 2 games of nearly every NCAA basketball team, I'm having a hard time coming up with the names of those coaches. Could you help me identify them?

I'm loving today's win.   Especially happy for McEwen who I was as down on as any player I can remember.

Do I believe they've turned a corner? No. But I hope am wrong.

Loved your entire post, tower. As frustrating as our Warriors can be sometimes, Scoop can be twice as frustrating.

Loved Theo today. Those who don't think he is a high-major center didn't watch this game or about half our games last season. When he isn't in foul trouble, he is often a game-changer. For those who flat-out think he "sucks," I question if they know a single thing about basketball.

Very happy for McEwen, and I'm hoping this is the start of a nice string of games. As Wojo-hater 9-9-9 said, a game like this was a direct result of the coach not panicking and giving up on an athlete.

Liked what I saw of Elliott and Bailey today. Played some nice D and didn't force O.

Two huge buckets down the stretch by Sacar when we desperately needed somebody to step up.

Won without hitting a ton of 3s. It's easy to win when everything's falling. That was a gut-check win.

Excellent defensive game plan, executed well.

Lastly, I feel badly for all the Scoopers who were rooting against Wojo today, betting against the team, etc. Maybe next time!

I wonder if the Villanova administration has scheduled any interviews for their next coach yet?  Obviously, Wright was shown to not belong at this level of college basketball

After Wojo wins two national titles, I'll gladly cut him enormous slack to. Apples and oranges

Great win today. Effort and defense was MUCH better. This is what I had pictured Kobe would be all year. If MU gets THAT Kobe the rest of the year(and Theo), they will be incredibly tough to beat.

I will say one thing though...it gets a little nauseating hearing people talk about how hard it is to win on the road, as if that should be an excuse or something. It isn't. Is it harder?? In some cases yes, but there have been PLENTY of high major teams that have won on the road this year. Heck, just this week, we had Wisconsin beating Ohio St, Butler winning AT SJU, Georgia won today AT Memphis. Florida State won AT Louisville. Oh yeah, and DePaul is now 0-2 AT HOME. So winning on the road is harder then winning at home, but losing a road game should NEVER be an excuse for a loss, ESPECIALLY if your talent is equal or better then the team you are playing. Just find a way.

Again, great win today, I hope Mane enjoyed it...get Providence Tuesday night.

Yes, a 17 point lead in the first half against a very good team should be the norm.

And let's hope Koby got rid of the demons - we'll need him.

We absolutely do need him. If he can right himself, season may have hope. He needs to string some games like this together now. He's done almost nothing except Purdue second half until today. Good for him

Aside from you having trouble understanding the difficulty of winning on the road, you also don't know how to spell our starting guard's name.

Now go ahead and post the home and road records of teams in the power conferences. Posting a handful of examples doesn't prove anything.

8.   I don't like Markus setting picks.  He is small, gets beat up, and picks up fouls because he isn't used to it.

McEwen wasn't patient to let him set the screen first, nothing to do with him not being used to it.  Koby was making his move well before Howard could screen the guy

Tell me Mr Wise one, how difficult is it to win on the road?? I just gave you SEVERAL Examples of teams that did it just this week. There are PLENTY more I can give you if you need them. That's all you got?? You better bring it better then that. How come you didn't comment on the teams that won ON THE ROAD just this week, including two of them today over RANKED teams?? Because you can't...I made my point. It is NOT an EXCUSE...EVER. What it is for fans is a flat out cop out. Period. Have a good night.  :)

Even Wojo pointed to a poor effort against the Jays.

Loved the defensive intensity.

My post was obviously tongue in cheek.  I respect him more than any other coach in basketball. But, he's a hall of fame coach and his team can give up 46 points in a half, to a lesser team.  Based on what I've read recently it is ALL his fault because his team didn't give the required effort.

FTFY.
Thought the shot selection was mostly fine, at least by college standards. Just a lot of missed shots.

What else is he going to point to?

Did he say it was "a poor effort" or his players didn't put full effort forth?  Different things.

I'm well aware your post was tongue in cheek. It's more accurately sarcasm aimed at those of us who dare to be down on Wojo

Agree with this. Just got cold. Good teams clamp down and ride out the storm. We did that today.

On the other side, I hope Koby pockets this first half in his memory bank. After an ugly 3 attempt, he looked like the player we were all expecting.

Great team win. I was very surprised, but definitely enjoying the victory. They should poise and played nice D today. In addition, my feeling on Theo are well noted, but have to say he played very well today.

Rocky, are you really telling me that 2 recent games are indicative of the long-term success of a number of coaches who well established track records of getting the most out of their teams?

Jay Wright is one of them.  Buzz is another.  Dick Bennett did it for decades.  Nate Oates at Alabama looks like he could make the list after what he did at Buffalo.  Bob Huggins they most of his career (and it hurt a lot to type that but it's true, imo).
