Clearly Mr 29/8. Though nice for Koby to have a get-right game.

WarriorDad

Koby.  Markus was great, but Koby was difference maker

"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me." Al McGuire

I say Theo.  He is never going to score 20, but it doesn't mean his presence and play wasn't critical for winning the game.  He was a BEAST today.

Afroman

Koby.
Markus was great, but Koby really stepped up.
Special shoutout to Theo. He played big, too.

Mr. Nielsen

Markus Howard.
8 rebounds & 29 points. His rebounds and defence in the first 10 minutes set the tone of the game.

Did anyone else notice the key fouls Markus drew early in the game. Beys foul trouble in the first half was as important as anything else in this game.

Its DJOver

Markus, but I'll give my HM to Sacar. Markus hit the 3 to end the drought,  but after doing nothing offensively those two mid range when the game was still in question were huge. Also, like many, played great D.

Markus. Koby was very good. Theo was the only big who looked good. Sacar had 2 huge buckets.

warriorchick

Koby.

He scored so much that he generously gave a couple of his points to the other team.
Have some patience, FFS.

MuMark

I'd go Koby because we needed him to break out of it badly.....and he did.

Special props to Theo......he is hurt and is gutting it out.

Headline:  player scores 29 points and is somehow not unanimous SOTG.

Spoiled bunch, we are.

Is it Stud of the Game or Leading Scorer of the Game?

Koby scores 22 (13 above his season average, compared to 3 above his average for Markus), plays solid D with two steals and a block and CRUCIALLY is able to stay on the floor with Markus and Anim both sitting with foul trouble. This lets Wojo bring Markus back in a bit earlier than he otherwise might have. Also - after Markus fouls out he's still on the floor for the end-game FTs.

I'll go with Koby.

But that's still comparing players to expectations which isn't what "STUD" of the game is about. Markus was the best player today. 29 points and 8 rebounds.

Koby was great though and it was much needed.

MarkMiller

Koby with special mention to Theo.

Markus did so much more than score today. Besides his eight rebounds he played outstanding defense, set a nice screen for a wide open Koby trey, delivered a perfect alley oop for a Cain jam and drew quite a few important fouls early on and later in the game. I think SOTG should go to the player who contributed the most to the win. IMHO that player was Markus

But STOG isn't just a stat-stuffer (I don't think) - it's who came to play. Markus had a great game today too - he's a stud - but he also took 20 shots to get his 29 (compared to Koby's 12 for his 22), and you really can't emphasize the importance of Koby staying on the floor - with both your best O player and your best D guards sitting having your 2nd best in O and D staying on the floor is crucial.

Reasonable take. I'm still going with Markus but Koby was excellent.

Afroman

I thought SOTG stood for "Surprise Of The Game." That's why I gave it to Koby.
I'll stick with my original pick, though.  ;)

Thro played his best game of the year.

The D. We didn't score for 8 minutes and kept a double digit lead.
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

HutchwasClutch

Markus.  Established himself early and we rode him to big first half lead Nova couldn't overcome.  No one on Nova could guard him.  Then he hits huge three out of timeout down the stretch when we couldn't buy one.
