I did end up watching Karate Kid 3 after I finished season 4 only because I never saw it before. But not watching it didn’t detract anything.

If you’ve seen the movies at least once, the references in them are so big that even if it’s been decades since you last watched a Karate Kid movie, you’ll understand.

And even if not, they splice in clips from the old movies.

I would say Do Not Rewatch. I did not, and it definitely took me back to the 80's when I first saw the movies. I feel if I would have rewatched the movies, that feeling would have been lost.

The originals are frequent background shows at our house, at least 1 & 2 when they're on, and it didn't ruin that at all. Clearly you don't have to rewatch, but it's not a negative to do so.

Really pumped for the Dexter finale. Hope they nail it because this revival has been a great idea.

Probably the best since the first 2 seasons.

I don’t think it’s better than Trinity season 4.

But other than that I’d agree forsure

Trinity might have been the best season period, certainly better than Season 2 (though I hated Lila).

That’s the issue for me too with 2. Lila was just brutal.

I do think Trinity was best as well. But I can see someone giving season 1 the edge for starting it and the whole ice truck killer plot

OK, this one is a little bit of a blast from the past. Last night, we started watching the original season of The Joe Schmo Show with our daughters. I suppose it's not everyone's cup of tea, but my wife and I loved this show when it aired (although two subsequent seasons are not worth the time). Over the past 15 or so years I've periodically searched to see if this was available streaming anywhere for free (or that I already subscribed to) and was always disappointed. Then last Fall I found that some guy had posted all the full episodes on YouTube. Eureka!

For those of you who haven't heard of the show, here's the premise: it's a fake reality competition show where one person is legit and everyone else is an actor that is in on the joke. This is from 2003, so that genre was fairly new at the time (Survivor had premiered in 2000) and they have all the stereotypical archetype contestants (e.g., the pretty boy, the Bitch, etc.). Honestly, it's absolutely amazing that it worked and that their "mark" actually fell for it.  While he would do his "confessional" each day the rest of the cast (which featured a young Kristen Wiig) would meet for a production meeting to plan things. It was really fun watching them walk the high wire and try to avoid spoiling things. The fact that they cast such a credulous guy (and perhaps not very bright) enabled the show to work. We enjoyed it when it first aired and we enjoyed the first episode last night.

Not sure if I posted this before but Laura Linney is married to a gentleman by the name of Marc Schauer who lived on my floor at McCormick freshman year. Shouldn’t have been surprised. He was a legendary swordsman. Left during our sophomore year.

Made it about halfway through the new Matrix movie before shutting it off. Talk about content for the sake of content.

Daredevil Season 2. Man, Jon Berenthal is fantastic as Frank Castle. Just a brilliant acting performance.

Oh yeah, one of those roles where an actor was simply meant for it.

Can't wait for him to return as Punisher.

The speech he gives in the graveyard about his daughter, coming home from the war, it's just heartbreaking. When he says "That's real, Red" it just epitomizes the two sides of the father and the Punisher. Casting in that show was excellent all around, but D'Onofrio and Berenthal in particular were the kind of portrayals that should've won awards.

Watched the first hour of Don't Look Up yesterday. It was fine. I didn't think it was as terrible as some made it out to be, but didn't think it was special either.

We watched it the other night. Entertaining enough and all too realistic in terms of how polarized people are around simple things like facts.

Never made it past season 3. Worth picking back up?
