Mare of Eastown is legit.

Sundays episode was insane.

That final sequence was incredible.  As good as anything HBO has done in that sort of tense action drama.  A couple “HOLY S*%#” moments within the span of 5 min.

Also, as the series has progressed, I’ve loved the interplay between Mare and her mom.  Jean Smart kills it, it’s truly hilarious in an otherwise bleak show

Girlfriend has me watching Atypical with her.  Pretty good so far.  We're part of the way through season two.  I think most of the characters are played really well.

Yeah,  I liked this one too.

Oh yeah shes always good in everything I see her in. I do love the random bouts of comedy in a show that is certainly not a comedy.

Really interested to see where the last two episodes go. The suspect list is not exactly shrinking. I hope this one ends on a high note.

Thanks for the Mare of Easttown suggestion.  Binged watched since yesterday, freaked Mrs. Hilltopper out while I just watched the ending of e05.

It's rare I watch "weekly" shows, so I'm kinda ticked off I gotta start waiting a week for each episode, though.

Luckily theres only 2 more so not a long wait.

But yeah, that ending leaves for quite the wait for next sunday.

We've started watching The Nevers a few weeks and my fiancee was low key pissed when we got through 3 episodes and realized that we had to wait till the following Sunday to watch another.

Speaking of, that season finale was WILD.  Confusing as hell first half of the episode but then an absolute incredible wrap around.

I watched My Octopus Teacher recently and enjoyed it. I had no idea it won an Oscar until after I saw it. I had never heard of it and downloaded it on Netflix before a recent flight.

I watched The Blues Brothers the other day, for the first time since... 8th grade, maybe? I had completely forgotten how much of that movie is pure destruction. It's wild. It's like 10% plot, 35% musical numbers, and 55% is absolutely demolishing things (mostly police cars, but also malls, apartment buildings, RVs, wristwatches, beer bottles, etc.). I also had no idea Carrie Fisher was in it, among many other cameos.

I didn't get emotional. It was allergies.

Mare of Easttown was very good again last night.

Finale should be crazy. A lot of possibilities still of who actually did it and what everyones motives are/many peoples involvement.

Really pumped for next Sunday.

Just started Mare this week. Through episode 4 and planning to watch 5 tonight. The Mrs really likes it too. Great acting and so much story packed in.

Army of the Dead on Netflix, probably 20 mins too long, but a good fun (and kinda dumb) zombie flick.

What are your thoughts on the level of gore?

Mrs. naginiF is balking on it because the reviews point to over the top gore.

I mean it’s not torture porn like the Saw, movies but shoot ‘em up, grenades blowing up bodies and heads, but very R rated.

Mare is the best HBO show since Succession last aired. Winslet is so good, and the storytelling is superb.

Guess you thought more highly than we did, plenty of good laughs in an almost Deadpool style but the story overall?

I feel bad for any shows that are going to run in the miniseries categories of the Emmys.

Mare is going to win just about every single one of them.

Winslet and the lady who plays Lori should probably prepare the speeches now.

Julianne Nicholson plays Lori, and I agree. One of the great things about Mare is that as great as Winslet is -- and she will deserve every award she gets -- almost everybody in the supporting cast also is outstanding. Writing was sharp, too. Just great, great television.

Compared to the other limited series we watched recently, Your Honor on Showtime, this was just so much better, so much more believable. I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I'll stop there.

Winslet and Nicholson are also incredible close friends, if not best friends, off camera, so that could only have helped the unreal acting.

And I agree.  Your Honor was incredible at times, Michael Stuhlbarg was as good as Winslet or anyone in Easttown with how he stole nearly every scene including with Cranston, but the end was terrible IMO and the show skidded into a finish where this finale was fantastic.  It’s sometimes hard to appreciate how good it was cause it’s just not at all a pleasant or remotely feel good show, aside from a few Jean Smart barbs

Yeah Your Honor was just so meh for me. Obviously Cranston and Stuhlberg were great as always but the show as a whole was simply ok.

Other recent HBO shows like Outsider and the Undoing also do not hold a candle to Mare.

It was extremely emotional.  I will admit crying .  The cuttlefish and mimic octopus are two of the most amazing creatures on our planet.  They are real life superheroes.

Just powered through 3 seasons of Yellowstone over the weekend.

If you like guns, sex, violence, cowboys and Indians, corporate greed, politics, wolves, grizzly bears, alcohol, mental health, fly fishing, rodeos, meth, train stations, 70 year cowboys shagging 24 year old cowgirls, and branding people with branding irons in a blender, this is the show for you.
