Full accountability?? Sure Wojo..That's the same drum you have been beating all year "it's all on me". And yet here we are...29 games into a season, and you have yet to do a damn thing to help clean up the turnovers, seemingly have no feel for when you need to change things up, have no plays to post Joey/Sam up...and maybe most of all have done NOTHING to do something about the horrendous starts to halves that have plagued you ALL year long. But it's all on you...you got this, right??  ::)

Reporters actually get paid to ask questions like that?  Just terrible. Who are they?
How about the one " Was Markus scoring 21 straight points important" or something like that. The look on Wojo face and his one word response was great.  He took a deep breath before answering the only good question about Theos foul problems.

I remember in 2003 we had a game where we had massive turnovers, laid an egg, it was in March...bad game.  Four games later we beat #1 Kentucky and went to the Final Four.

No one knows what is going to happen.  Kentucky yesterday looked god awful.  Houston last night on their home court, lost.  Michigan State lost to Indiana.  This is college basketball.  Is Izzo suddenly a bad coach, Sampson, Cal, etc?  Come on.  We played terribly.

Good Lord. Who are these guys asking questions? Not only do they sound terrified, but they are incredibly bad.

This team ain't beating Kentucky dude. It's not 2003 and Wade is not suiting up. Get real.

I think the reporters had a bad day, too.

LOL.  And UMBC wasn't beating #1 Virginia either....get real.  And Loyola Chicago was going out in the first round. And and and and.   No one knows...not you, not me.  No one.

And here we are 29 games into the season...sitting at 23-6.  23-6!  Yes, the flaws have come out over the last two games, but we are 23-6 with a great tourney resume! Was there anything great about the game?  No.  But Wojo takes accountability and will have them ready to play on Wednesday. Did I mention we're 23-6???

Respectfully, I'm not sure "accountability" is the right word, because I don't think most would watch this clip and conclude that Wojo really thinks everything is his fault.

This is a coach sending his team a message: "We are down today, but I am with you. I will not throw you under the bus. I value you as people and basketball players. When we are in practice, away from the public light, I will be tough on you, my assistants and I will do our best to coach you, and we will get better as a team. But publicly, I will never crap on you. I have your back. I believe in you, I believe we have everything we need in this room to reach all of our goals, and we will turn this back around together."

Athletes love this. Over time, they usually respond to this. Recruits hear that the coach treats his players with respect and doesn't publicly call them out, and they want to play for a coach like that, too.

Had to look it up, but Marquette vs UAB March 13th, 2003....MU had 30 turnovers...30.  Imagine MU Scoop back then.  Yowza.  Went to Final Four 16 days later.

23-6 isnt anything to write home about when you consider they SHOULD be 27-2..Should have beat Indiana, Nova, SJU at home and then today.

I don't agree with this but even if I play along, we certainly should have lost @Creighton, vs. Louisville, could throw Wisconsin in there. Maybe @X or @ Georgetown.

Worst prepared team I've seen in 53 years of watching Marquette basketball. Much, much worse than the loss to KU in the FF.

CountryRoads

Obviously hate losing to them, but I really don't mind Mac/creighton. Thought they were arrogant when they had Doug but I find myself pulling for them in non MU games. What do you guys think they need to be the 3rd big east team in the dance? Would 2 wins to go 9-9 and 2 in the BET get them in at 20-14?

We won a few games we shouldn't have, too....but of course no credit there...right?   ::)

The one that played against UAB? Or today?  I can think of worse prepared teams in the last 15 years, so maybe your memory is going.  Sometimes people substitute prepared for simply not shooting well, etc.  It always amazes me, too, how people harp on the losses and forget the incredible wins, often times when we are given absolutely no chance based on talent alone....but you know, that's cuz of the players you see.

now this is a great level headed observation and response-could you imagine if wojo or any coach for that matter comes out and singles out each and every mistake, turn-over, dumb foul, missed defensive assignment; pointing fingers at everyone in his way, assistant coaches trying to tell him stipid chit andcall them out...ho boy, i can just hear this board now as the list of transfers becomes six pages long.

i understand ones need to vent.  i could go on and on about my frustrations with certain players and wojo seemingly doing nothing about it, but cheeks and 82 have the best approach. i've told many that sometimes these games are just too hard to watch.  i've almost turned a few of them off, only glad i didn't.  gotta take the good with the bad.  23-6 looks like more good than bad.  let's reserve final judgement for end of season.

We won the game we should have lost and lost the game we should have won. Let's win on Wednesday.

OK, 23-6 is not bad. Probably over 99% of scoopers would have taken that, no questions asked, in October. Wojo has recruited well, takes full accountability, and really likes his guys. The in-game coaching still seems somewhat lacking. "Clear your minds about what's happened, we have a 7:32 game" didn't work worth a damn. How about some kind of adjustment, such as having someone who could see over them doing some ball-handling? They can clear their minds, but don't you think they are going to get a big, fat reminder of that kind of defense on Wednesday, and Sunday, and in NY? I think Wojo is a hard worker, and while no answer came to him during the game, here's hoping he and the staff can turn it around in practice.

Please tell me you're smarter than believing that was the entire timeout. This has been discussed at leangtg, no coach is going to give a full view of the clipboard and actually go through what the adjustments are.
