Naji Marshall did not practice today and is a gametime decision tomorrow.

Seems important. Played all 40 against us at home and posted 21p 7r.

We've had some sluggish starts lately - I'd love to see the guys go wire-to-wire.

Wojo's computer homepage is MUScoop. He just forwards that to each team members phone for tomorrow's game plan.

Pretty sure Wojo is telling the team that Xavier sucks, road games are easy, they should stay out all night and then be sure to bring their 'C' games tomorrow.

Would be a huge loss for them. He is Xavier's best defender and can guard multiple positions.

Of the next 4 upcoming games, a win Sat lessens the sting of a potential loss later.

A loss on Sat, coupled with a potential loss at Hinkle and then things may change a little bit going into the next two games.

A win Sat gives us a little more of a cushion.

Agreed. I've assumed a loss at Butler all year so winning this one would be huge. Win tomorrow and we get to play with some house money at Hinkle. A 7-2 first half would be great.

Then come home and take care of business against SJU and Nova.

Conference road game against a desperate team.     Anything can happen.

If Xavier's a desperate team, I expect the other 7 Big East teams besides MU and Nova to be equally desperate.  If you haven't noticed, everyone's got exactly 4 conference losses already.

Biggest game of the season.

Negative, biggest game thus far was the Georgetown win. Lose that sucker and its "same old, same old." The win juices their cockles with confidence. All part of the "learning how to win" mentality coaches need their teams to grasp in order to take the next step.

Rearview mirror.  Like when Home Team asked Wojo if there was one thing he would remember or be thinking about as he walked from their interview over to the locker room after MU made up 5 points in 0.8 seconds and Markus hung 53 on Creighton, Wojo's answer without hesitation was "Seton Hall."  The guy gets it.

Lotta angst around here for a game against arguably one of the two worst teams in the Big East. Enjoy the season, this is the best MU team in a long time.

Xavier isn’t good, the eye test, computer numbers, efficiency stats support that. If MU loses tomorrow it’ll be because they had a collective off day. Another win tomorrow is more equity towards the finish line. It’s fun having MU be good, have fun!

Like most games in the Big East this year, it's a game that Marquette probably SHOULD win, but also a game that Marquette very easily COULD lose.  Xavier isn't great, but they had Auburn on the ropes and have 3 Big East wins already, including against Butler.  Marquette has figured out ways to win even when they haven't had their best stuff, but any game in the Big East that you don't have your best stuff leaves you vulnerable, even if it's against the worst teams in the Big East.

Marquette 3 point underdog is a bit surprising but highlights how competitive each game is.

I see that too. KenPom has MU -3, power ratings I use have MU -4. Maybe someone knows Marshall is playing tomorrow? Seems really low at 1, an MU win breaks even here. It’s probably good to get in at -1, especially if Marshall is legit 50/50.

Question for the Scoop legal community.
I have an annoying neighbor who is a Cincy grad who insists on pronouncing it "Ecks-Zavier" instead of "Zavier".
Am I within my legal rights to punch him for this?

Cincy set the precedent by punching the police horse, aina.

It's all the fault of Professor Xavier of the X-Men, who insists on pronouncing in Ecks-Zavier.  I would say you could punch Professor X in the face if you dare, but he's been punished enough, what with being in a wheelchair and all.  OTOH, he gets to hang out with Halle Berry and all, and when she gets too old, another young beauty takes her place.  So there's that.

Going into season I had next two as losses, now I feel both are W’s. They proven they are tough in close games, and honestly, these two should not be close games. MU is better than both teams, and by a decent margin.
