Scuttlebutt from Providence seems to be that Reeves won't be ready for Sunday. I wonder if that has any bearing on how Wojo handles Markus and Ed. Believes that we should be able to handle Providence at home without Reeves so why not be conservative?

My office manager's pastor has a niece at Marquette who said her roommate saw Markus at Burger King. He appeared fine with good posture despite the uncomfortable bench seating.

Ordered onion rings, but skipped the zesty sauce. Concerning.

For an online rumor site, these rumors are decidedly unsatisfying. I might have to think about cancelling my subscription.

It's tough to blame Markus about the choice. The closest Arby's is Miller Park Way and he's too young to drive an automobile still.

A story line to keep in mind is Greg Elliot.  If it seems like Markus will miss more time, we could see Greg's redshirt lifted.

I actually kind of doubt that. Between the spin up time for Greg to game speed and how much season is left it just doesn't make sense unless Markus is out for the season

Gonna agree with eng here saveO.  That would be a last resort kind of thing and there's no indication that Markus is anything other than day to day.

This has probably been a good week to do more classroom practice rather than hard physical practice allowing these guys to get their bodies back in shape.  They had played 5 games in exactly 2 weeks, mostly pressure packed one possession types. The mini break of Tuesday-Sunday had to be welcome by all.  They've got another 4 game stretch without any breaks beginning Sunday before a much quieter 6 games the entirety of February.

Wojo said on his show last night that Markus would definitely be back....he was just vague on when it would be.....up to the doctors and Markus.

If they think Markus could be out more than a game or two, I think Elliott could be in play.  It may depend on how rusty he looks in practice.  Wojo (rightfully so) seems to have lost all confidence in JC.  If the redshirt discussion had not occurred until today (even taking Howard's injury out of the equation), I tend to think Elliott would be playing this year, just to have a second point guard available.  The guys stepped up against Georgetown, but you can't really have forwards bringing up the ball for an extended stretch of games.  With a team that is capable of winning the Big East, MU doesn't want to let the lack of a point guard cost them a couple games.

I don’t see the possibility of lifting Elliott’s redshirt as at all realistic

Especially after "a game or two".  It would take Greg just as long to get up to speed as it would for Markus to fully recover, and we would have wasted an entire season of Greg's talent for what - DePaul and Xavier?
Have some patience, FFS.

Agreed and if you're Greg, other than being a nice guy why do it?

Guys, while I have zero inside info, you all do appreciate that Wojo is making Ed's game planning as tough as possible.

I think of the Years marked by health issues that causes a too early end to the Season. Hopefully all will be well...

I heard Markus is gonna listen to Pippen and sit out the rest of the year to get ready for the NBA draft.

But is MU benefiting from Markus, or is Markus benefiting from MU?

@BenSteeleMJS

Coach Wojciechowski: Ed Morrow (ankle) and Markus Howard (back) are questionable for Sunday's game.  They are continuing to get treatment but Wojo said "at this point it'd be premature to say that they're going to play." #mubb
