He was ten seats away from me, it wasn't scripted. Lots of old guys wearing their pass on a lanyard in those parts.

He's a pretty vocal regular, definitely not a plant.

I did enjoy Kris Kross' Jump in lieu of Jump Around

They did play Jump Around in the first half.

Lol.  Couldn't assess anything against Charleston Southern because the competition sucked (until you figured out we turned over the ball a lot, then we could assess our turnover problems based on Charleston Southern).

Now the competition steps up and we are up double digits almost the entire half but we can't assess anything because the refs sucked.

AKA Ners can only assess a Wojo coached team after a loss.

So sensitive Wades.  I posted positives around this game.  Some encouraging signs...notably we looked tougher than we've been in the last 4 seasons, much better defense, and didn't look a 1/4 step too slow against a high major team with some good athletes.

That aside, if you don't feel this was an odd game, oddly officiated, you're welcome to that opinion.   I'm surprised you are okay with this game given that Markus was chasing the "50 burger."  He was sublime/at his absolute best today.  Ceiling level performance.  Not sure you can count on him getting 21 trips to the FT in most games going forward.

As you like to say, it's just one early season game.  Nothing to get too high about, or too low about.  But, for one night we shall celebrate Wojo's 2nd best victory in his 140th game at the helm.

How many of the offensive fouls were of the dribble handoff-called-offensive-foul variety?  And I believe at least 1 was also a moving screen.

This team at times gets too sped up trying to get up court off of a rebound or turnover.  The good thing is today it was pretty much all with the dribble or shorter passes and not trying to throw it across the court where a defender was able to easily jump it and get out on the run.

#6  How about just stop doing the political signatures, is it that hard?
#7  Poor girls are being held back   :D

Welcome back

#6 I have, so obviously it isn't that hard.
#7 Not sure what this means.

Thanks

Sensitive?  Not really.

I'm pretty sure that guy is the fan in the yellow pullover at the end of this video: https://youtu.be/kvgOfL0bezM

What a weird situation. The refs were looking at a video and it looked like the ref wanted to someone to be ejected. The security guy was trying to quiet the crowd around them and then the video switched to the blue pullover guy...

Hey for those watching on television, how about those city shots they showed of Milwaukee with the sun out and green leaves on the trees?

Yeah, it was fun driving home in all that liquid sunshine!

On my tv, the crowd seemed into it and pretty loud. I don't know if the court mic's are turned up (or whatever) at FF,
but sounded like MU had a good homecourt advantage today thanks to the crowd.

Multiple people on the K State board wishing Markus to have a season ending injury after he waved to the K State player that got fouled out, yikes
Markus took out their star Wade on fouls.  It was intentional.  Marcus took him out on purpose.

I'm assuming he got both sides of the student sections involved?  That's a natural that should be done anyway, but if the students reacted all the better.  There could be some great back and forth between student section sides if the university would choreograph some of it.  Or get the men's LAX team to help.   ;)

My guess is Anim was playing so well that he ate up some of Jamal's minutes. No question though that Jamal has slid down the pecking order a bit. We'll need him one of these games, and he'll hit 3 or 4 threes, so I hope they don't bury him.

Since they said that the flu was going around, could Jamal been suffering from it?

Marcus92

Great game. If you told me beforehand that MU would commit 20 turnovers, I'd have thought Kansas St. won running away. We didn't even light it up from outside: just 6-22 (27%) from 3-point range. But we played tough defense and made a stunning 19 of 22 shots inside the arc. That's 86% on 2-pointers. Incredible.

Plenty to improve on. But a hard-fought, well-deserved win.

Weber can't coach defense!  Is it personnel or scheme?

Yeah it didnt seem scripted to me. Seemed like a guy taking advantage of the situation.

And if it was scripted, great job MU.

That guy is a natural and the students picked up on it so well.  The end was great, when he got both sides going together.  Perfect way to take advantage of having the student section separated - call and response.

Louisville and K-state.  Both physical defensive teams.  We won both games by being tougher and playing better D than them.

I believe KS was 5th in country on defense

tower912

Did anyone notice KS had trouble guarding the high pick and roll?  5th best defense in the country.  As improved as MU is defensively, I have little doubt that there will be another game where the rotations are a step slow.  It is an offensive staple for a reason.

Great win!   Drive back to Chicago a happy one!   Great job by coaching staff and players.  Solid D.  All good except the turnover.   Go Marquette!
