Because there is no interest in this game in Vegas

But people are flocking the Minny vs Omaha and Clemson vs Citadel?

If someone is not going to a sporting event because of Mid-Term Election Day, might need to re judge their life.

I would say the same thing about anyone who is asking about the spread.

Eh.  Don't schedule an a$$ team on Election Day if you care about the size of your opening day crowd.

I'm confused by why the Election has any impact on attendance for a game that tips after the polls close? Further UMBC has 15 minutes of fame, it's a rather inspired opponent for a stadium opener.

It might just be that MU fans are a lot of entitled jerks :)

Was talking to Glow and he reminded me of something rather important.

Friendly reminder for fellow FIBs if you haven't been up to Milwaukee in awhile. There's about 25 straight miles of construction each way on 94. Down to two lanes and super, super narrow.

Yeah. This is the worst. Built it into my travel time, but frontage roads may be your best friend.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I've offered my extra ticket to friends (without much luck), and I've even been offered 2 great seats and parking pass for UW game in Madison tonight.  Opening night on a weeknight, late start, vs a bottom-feeder will lead to a lot of unused tickets.  Official attendance will be 12K, with about 7K in the arena.

Although, I have been some openers that were pretty sparsely attended, so I don't think it abnormal whatsoever.

Prepare for disappointment.

In fact, that's probably a good frame of mind for everything that occurs today..

Are you talking about the election or Arby's?

Yep. Like I said, the bookmakers have no interest in MU game. That's the way it goes sometimes.

Yeah, no.

There isn’t more interest in Creighton/Western Illinois than Nova/Morgan State.

I'm going tonight but I'm bummed that the game is on election night.  Every two years on this night is one where I will watch cable news and indulge in all of the rhetoric.  I find it interesting to watch swing states / districts go back and forth.  So I can certainly understand someone being disappointed the nights conflict.

Honeypie is good.

Cafe centraal is good. Best of the hollander/benalux/centraal trio. Bit out of the way.

Mad rooster is great and very big portions. Large Omelets come with lots of potatoes and 2 pancakes.

Brunch just off of wells is supposed to be good.

Have heard great things about Sweet Diner but both times I've been there I've been stuck with their limited menu

If you're going to Bay View, go a few blocks further south and check out Sabrosa. Absolutely fantastic.

Also, avoid the hype of Blue's Egg. Has to be the most overrated brunch in the city. Not at all worth the wait. For a bigger place, Mad Rooster beats Blue's Egg.

Commemorative cups denoting the date and location will help all fans remember the historic event at the inaugural regular season game in the new arena on Nov. 6. Additionally, schedule magnets will be available to the first 3,000 fans.

I was at the first Bradley Center game.  If I received a commemorative cup, it has long since disappeared.

Great now I'm going to have to carry those around all night!  Thanks a lot Marquette!

I like the magnets, but there used to be plenty for everyone. Can I trade in my plastic purse for an extra magnet😁?

Thumbs down on MU distributing the cups after the game.  I don't know where they were being distributed (as that was not announced), but since we exit via one of the stairways, we were not able to get one.  Also did not see any magnet schedules being distributed.

Magnet schedules were in the same room as the STH bags. Cups were distributed in the way out through the main concourse.

I guess that was kind of my point.  Magnet schedules were promoted as "first 3,000 fans", which typically would imply first 3,000 fans to enter, not first 3,000 to find their way to the STH room.  With the cups, if you did not exit via the main concourse, you missed out.  Don't understand why you wouldn't distribute them as people entered.
