Haha same! Wow what a difference those 2 years made. Love a late riser like this. Looks very solid fundamentally

Prep school so 19 year old freshman?

Will turn 18 sometime this month, so young for the 2018 class.

Ditto.

I totally trust Wojo in recruiting, and it looks like he got a good one who probably will get much better with a year at Blair. I wouldn't assume a redshirt at all if he makes the most of his prep school experience.

I am concerned, however, if the chip on his shoulder affects the quality of his neck.

Welcome to the MU Family, Dexter.  Glad to have you on board.

Blair will be a good experience for him, very upscale school for academics and sports in a rural setting in western NJ.

Welcome to MU Dexter. Great Choice.

Dexter is a huge get for MU. As discussed on the recruiting thread he is a true diamond in the rough. This young man is exactly the type of player we need to be in the upper echelons of the Big East.
Of greater importance what is your take on his neck?

Wrote about it extensively in the recruiting thread. Here is an example:

If anyone out there would like an example of a good neck, Dexter is exhibit 1.  Dexter uses that neck strength  and is a  solid defender.

Dexter  is right up there with Jeenathan in terms of neck strength. Jeenethen is projected by some to be Mr. Lockdown of the freshman elite. So maybe MU gets a second bite at that apple via Dexter.

Just a little tidbit about Akanno, talked to a player about him and he said that he did not play that well with the group.  But he cameback and said, no one plays well
in these pick-up games, they are not used to the physicality of the game at the next level.   That is why there maybe 20 kids a year make an impact in college right
away.  Not used to the speed of the game.  Just watching Akanno play 2 years ago to last year, made a big jump in his game.  Will probably keep improving, has
range, a little low release, but for now fine.  I do not expect him to get a lot of time next year and for that matter it might be his junior year before he sees sizeable
playing time, hope he proves me wrong.  Good pick-up.

Thanks for info. The steady growth scenario for Dexter that you outline fits our roster well. Also,I think he will make the most of the PG year he is taking and come in physically stronger .

When I was at MU, Sam Worthen, Artie Green and Tony Davis enjoyed "grass and stuff" very much.

My take.

Another point I like is that Buzz tried to recruit him as well.  Buzz found under the radar type players for MU and some turned out pretty good, Crowder and Butler.

And what about high school "under the radar" players? I can think of 1. That's not a very good ratio.
