Then a bit more complex trip Fukuoka, Japan to Fresno Yosemite to Pendopo Indonesia to West Palm Beach.

That being said...this is elite nerdy airport humor that I greatly appreciate.  I still have a screenshot somewhere of my boarding pass to Fukuoka when I randomly had a connection there on an ANA jaunt and FUK made me snicker like a teenager.

Thanks to the jr high kid still living inside, I already knew both Fukuoka and Sioux Coty airport codes.

I opted for Turkish Air via IST (Istanbul) to MLA (Malta) because I was able to use points for B-Class.  I hope it was the right decision.  I just thought about Midnight Express.  I may have to tone down my MU travel gear.  What food options should I expect on my flight and in the T-Air lounges?

Just hung out in the T-Air lounge at IAD yesterday on my way back to the states from a month in Europe, solid food choices, lots of vegetarian options. Was busy but able to grab a chair and outlet. WiFi less than ideal, real slow.

Muggsy - arrive hungry to the TK lounge in IST... the Pide is amazing.  A queue forms every time one comes out of the oven.  Need to use your boxing-out skills to get a couple pieces.

Has anyone ever been to Brunei?

when I lived in Indonesia many colleagues would go there to play golf at the Empire resort.  But sometime in 2010's alcohol was restricted and golf without beer is pointless.  I think the resort even closed for a while.

It doesn't seem worth it to me.  I have a Singapore trip planned for October and thought maybe bouncing over there for a day would be interesting but I think I'll just hit Chiang Mai again or Bali.  I loved everything in Indonesia, but I need more time. I went for a week for a one day dive and saw the Orangutans and the main temples, but I felt like I could be there for like a month.  It's an adventurers paradise.

Yea, I asked my friends in Jakarta about it one time and their flat uniform response was "its kind of cool for an hour, but its really boring otherwise".

Its tiny, its Sharia ruled so its both dry and otherwise not particularly interesting culinary wise, and other than a couple temples/landmarks, anything notable (beaches or rainforests) you can see or experience just as well elsewhere in Indonesia or SE Asia.  Anyone within the ruling family, or otherwise of wealthy resources, goes to Singapore/Bali/Jakarta/HK if they want to have fun or relax

Unless I can get a personal meeting with the Sultan and pimp MU hoops.  He's probably not seen the clip of Nigel's insane up an under vs St.John's.  The Sultan of Brunei's abode I would imagine has big screen theater of sorts?

I just came back from a 1 night trip to Vilnius, Lithuania.  It's a 4 hour drive from my in-laws town in Poland.  Convinced my wife to go to undue the scars of a visit in 1991, 3 months before Lithuania was fully independent from the USSR and a scary run-in with Gypsies.  The old town is larger than expected and most has been renovated and the remainder is a construction zone.  My wife was highly impressed and recalls absolutely nothing from the past looking like the current.  Notably less expensive compared to other European locations.

LOL. I was telling my wife that Lithuania has good basketball players and their national team was originally sponsored by the Grateful Dead and they still wear tie-dye warm up clothes.
We made a brief stop in Kaunas the second largest city to visit a castle and the old town outside it hosts the Lithuanian Basketball Museum.

My wife and daughter recommend Tallin.  Mostly untouched by WWII, limited Soviet garbage buildings so the old town is phenomenal and also 2 hour plus ferry ride from Helsinki.

Nice!  How was Finland?  Did you visit the Hayha museum?  I think it's a bit off the beaten track...maybe 4  hours from Helsinki.

Sounds definitely with visiting.  Yiu should look up Simo Hayha.  Or Badass Simo Hayha, whichever you prefer.  The Finns were amazing in the Winter War.
