A win is a win, but at what cost.

I don't understand this line.

What did the win "cost" us?

We played hard, quite often didn't play well, let a bad team stick around, escaped with a win we had to have.

Cost?

The cost was us getting a must-win victory and moving on to the next round.

Cost?

We could have lost like Arizona State, Oklahoma, Washington, etc did. We won. No matter how, no matter against whom.

Please, tell us, what was the cost?

It's a no-brainer. Anyone who thinks it's not AR is not connected with reality. Led in points, assists, and rebounds. Damn, what do you want?

How bout some defense?

I wanted a double digit win vs DePaul tonight. Instead im scheduling an appt with a physician for my MUBB induced cardiac disease.

Rowsey, but liked Matt's effort tonight.

If you're a C and you get a feed right under the basket you don't kick it out beyond the 3 point line.

Sure you do. He's not Kareem. He knows his role.

Besides which, Guererro, your grammar sucks (sorry if you're ESL).

I know its a routine thing for you, but a guy my age shouldn't have to be paying for a cardiologist!

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Ok strawman

????   Matt does this all the time. He's not a scorer. He passes out to scorers. There's nothing strawman about it. I have no problem with it.

Stop complaining just to complain.

It's Rowsey. It was a disgusting game. It was stressful. But some of you are acting like DePaul is Chicago State.

They won at Providence by 17. They had Creighton on the ropes. They had Xavier on the ropes twice. They are 100th in Kenpom. They are a legitimately good defensive team. This isn't DePaul of the past. This is their best team per Kenpom since 2006 and by a pretty wide margin.

There are some times that he receives the ball, recognizes he's guarded, and makes excellent passes to open shooters for good shots.

There are also times, including a few tonight, where he hesitates and passes up a free two points.

Using Kareem as the basis for what a center should do with a perfect feed under the basket? Uhh that's textbook strawman. Stop arguing just to argue. Difficult for you but try it. It's liberating

This.

We didn't play well for some long stretches, but we won a game we had to win.

Even the Strus shot at the end ... that was some ugly defense. But Strus had thrown in 2 miracle shots earlier. Law of averages. Survive and advance.

You play. You need to win. You win. Period.

And as eagle says, DePaul ain't that bad.

But even if they are ... we won the effen game.

Probably the best one in awhile.

Texas beat last-place Iowa State by 4 in a game the Longhorns had to have.

A win is a win ... but at what cost?

Clearly, both Wojo and Shaka should reject these wins because they weren't stylish enough.

Rowsey by a mile.  I'm just going to forget those last 15 seconds happened.

A win's a win, and hopefully we got that out of our systems. There's a handful of other teams that can't say the same tonight. They did enough to have a little hope on Sunday, with a shot to lock up a bid tomorrow.

We R Final Four

Yes. When rolling to the hoop and receiving the pass less than 4' from the hoop, Matt should be thinking Tom Copa dunk (off backboard layup). He was fortunate tonight that those passes were received by shooters. Tomorrow they will not and then people will be screaming that he should have shot a 2' shot. But tonight.......it's an assist.

Mr. Sand-Knit

So if we won the national championship game like that would everyone be bitching??!!!
Its tournament basketball guys.  No style points.  Was it ugly did we make alot of mistakes? Did some guys not get off the plane?? Did we win?
Yes to all of them.
Onward!!

Matt is not a good scorer. Anytime he sets up one of our 3-point studs wide open on the perimeter, it is a good pass.

Depaul is bad. They're 180 RPI before the loss tonight. No need to put lipstick on this pig.

That said, survive and advance is all that matters right now.
