It's MU in the conference tournament.  I never expect them to actually show up.

My head won't explode, though I do expect a (laborious) win against DePaul, before getting destroyed by Nova.

Very good point.  We are historically terrible in the BEAST tourney.

Two losses to Depaul with a healthy team, gets Wojo a 2 on the heat index.  Eye brows raised.

Next year may be more of a make or break.

Losing 2 to Depaul would definitely raise more than a few eyebrows, although I think the odds of that happening are very, very low. Have we ever dropped 2 to Depaul in one year?

Wojo should absolutely have plenty of heat on him if we lose tonight. Plane and simple the guy would not be getting the job. He should have heat on him before tip tonight anyway. We've been soft and inconsistent, so many f*cking excuses. As Woj said the other night, its a privilege to have pressure. He's got plenty of it.

He won't.  (And "raising eyebrows" isn't really heat.)  Your ranting doesn't change that.

Losing to DePaul twice is embarrassing, no doubt. But our tourney chances really rest on beating Nova tomorrow night. If we don't, it will be hard to have a legitimate complaint about missing the field this year. Didn't do enough in the regular season.

Though I tend to agree, and for some reason have a good feeling about MU winning that game...I wonder what MU's fate would be with a win over DUHPaul, and say Syracuse, Alabama, Louisville, Notre Dame, USC and UCLA all losing their first games would do for their chances?? I still don't think Providence is safe(or that they should be), and I don't see Butler's resume as being tourney worthy either(except for one win vs Nova).

I don't think Syracuse, Alabama, Louisville, Notre Dame, USC and UCLA all losing early is necessary for MU to get a bid at 1-1.

For all we know, MU will be a 9 or a 10 seed in the the committees first cut this afternoon and a win over Depaul and a loss to Nova isn't going to bump them out.

Let me repeat - beating Villanova is not necessary to get a bid.  However, it would ensure a bid.

1. I will not worry about Wojo, the fate of the program or anything like that, but I will worry about guru. The boy has absolutely nothing else in his life. Nothing. If the game is close, cops everywhere should start scanning every window ledge for guru.

2. We got this.

First of all, I appreciate your concern...second(and most of all), I am NOT a boy, in fact I'd venture to guess older than a vast majority here or at least in the same age range. Third, I have other things, but I PURPOSELY eliminated the things that cause drama, or stress..It's a great feeling knowing you can have a clear mind, not have the everyday worries most do, and pour your heart and soul into sports, especially MU basketball. :) That's living right.

Honestly, you'd be on the top of my list.

Pretty ignorant,  i was rightfully upset after the Providence game.  Only game i was upset with this entire year.

At this point, nothing would completely surprise. Could lose tonight or upset 'nova tomorrow and I would not be shocked. That said, I am expecting win tonight and double digit loss tomorrow. Hope I am right tonight and wrong tomorrow.

The question is not whose head will explode, but rather, how far from the blast site does the detritus of guru's, wee willie's, etc. brains end up.

I'm willing to bet two bits that it is more than 1 mile.

Couldn't have stated it any better. This team defines inconsistency. A win against Nova might be even more amazing than a year ago.

Agreed. The heat doesn't just immediately jump from 0% to 90+%. There are more levels.

There is a 0% chance he would lose his job if we lost tonight (which is the way it should be). But a 0% hot seat means he could totally miss next year's tourney and be safe. Which I don't buy.

I was at the Depaul game and anyone that can recall or wants to look it up, i said we lost to a bigger stronger more athletic more experienced team on the road

I don't understand all this inconsistency talk.  Our defense has been pretty consistently bad all year, and our O has only failed to hit 70 in 3 games, Wichita State, Georgia, and @Depaul. Now I wouldn't bet the farm on a W tonight because of our record in the BET over the last decade, but I feel fairly comfortable about the team getting it done tonight.  For as young as we are, and our "live by the 3, die by the 3" mentality, we've been far more consistent that I anticipated coming into the year.

How many P6 teams are smaller, weaker, less athletic, and less experienced than us.  Your statement is true, but could be said about every other team in the conference as well.

Losing to Nova doesn't mean we're done for, winning against Nova guarantees us into the tournament. Meanwhile losing to Depaul basically opens the Al Mcguire ticket center.

You know what, old man (is that better?), this is the most uplifting post I can remember from you, and it gives me hope!

If I were your shrink, I'd still say you need more in life than Warriors hoops, but I like the positive energy here.

This is a great point. Too many people use "consistent" as a synonym for good and "inconsistent" as a synonym for bad.

I'd argue (as you did) that we've been one of the most consistent teams in the country.

Ranting? This is big business. We are a highly funded program. I dont know why people are accepting mediocre. Accept the facts, we are underwhelming and Wojo hasnt gotten the job done in the last 4 years. Nothing but excuses, but he doesnt make excuses. In any other profession he would be gone. This isnt a rant, its realistically looking at goals that have not been met.

Don't be a p*ssy. Wojo needs a fire lit under his ass. Diamonds are made from pressure.
