Where is the brendan Bailey tweet? Or has he already signed his letter?

Awesome.  I think both of these guys have potential futures in the NBA.

Cheesy here. I just forgot my login(s) so I had to use Barf's account.

I just said I was WORRIED about Joey decommitting. I was actually 100% right when I said I hoped Wojo could convince him to stay.
Bullet dodged right there. Word from close friends of the family's auto mechanics' barber is that Sam was prepared to take the floor for the MSM game, then just before tip, ceremoniously go up into stands, take Joey by the hand, and lead them both out of the building, kicking Wojo in the shin and then mooning the band on the way out.

I love the optimism for Bailey, but I believe he's already 20 years old. If I have his current age right, he'll be 21 when he plays his first game at Marquette and close to 22 when the first draft after his first season would be. Fair or not, players that old have to be among the best to get drafted.

I don't think I am. I think Wades is saying that Bailey might play in the NBA one day.

I think the combination of the fact that he has the bloodlines (a dad who averaged 13 ppg over a 12 year NBA career), being 6'8", and having the ability to shoot the rock will land him in the NBA at some point.  Might not get drafted, but if he is productive in college somebody will give him a shot to make their roster.

I heard it was a "soft" official to MU.  Greg Guard is in his Ford Taurus hauling ass to Point.

Not dumb at all.  He was talking specifically about the draft. Players that get drafted high at 22-24 years old are in the minority.  Right or wrong, younger players considered to have more upside go higher all the time.

Horribly dumb post, Mr. Sand-Knit.

Talking about the draft my friend. Go ahead and look at the ages of players who typically get drafted nowadays. You'll notice most of them can't legally drink. The ones who are old enough to legally drink are usually All-American type players. I hope Bailey becomes an All-American caliber player, but that's not going to be my expectation for him.

Generally, a player that plays four years is not NBA material and that is the biggest reason 22 year olds are not drafted.

Plenty of 4 year guys get drafted......usually not real high but that is a different point.

Jimmy Butler, Jae Crowder, Frank Kaminsky....Buddy Hield.....Lillard was a redshirt junior when he went pro....CJ McCollum.......Draymond Green......Tyler Hansbrough, Brice Johnson, Tyler Zeller.....Danny Green....Kyle Singler, JJ Reddick, Shane Battier......etc etc etc

So, a lot of guys with "y's" play 4 years of college.  Even more with the alternate spelling for Jay, Daymon, CJay, JayJay, Bryce and Shayne.  Here's to 4 years of Joey!!!!

Official welcome to the younger Hauser.

Bailey has even more upside than Ike. Very excited that Wojo publicly confirmed he is on the way.

I don't know if I would say "plenty." Only 13 of 60 draftees last season were four year guys. (Only 2 of which were in the first round...and they were the last two picks...but you're right that is a different point). Of the literally hundreds of Division 1 seniors, only the 13 best in the country made it. Like I said in my post, to get drafted at that age, you have to be one of the best players in the country. There were seniors who went undrafted who were much better players in college then some of the young guns who went even in the first round. But the NBA drafts on potential and upside and the younger you are, the more appealing your are to an NBA team. I'm not saying that Brendan Bailey couldn't get drafted, but I am saying that as 22 year old, he will likely have to be one of top 15-30 players in the country to get drafted. And if he stays beyond his first year, as he gets older he will have to be even better in order to offset his age. I would LOVE for Bailey to put up those types of numbers, but I am not expecting it.
