Uphill battle, but wouldn't be surprised to see him stick if he can knock down catch and shoot threes. His defense will be there, and his transition game should thrive with pace and space.

I just watched rare archival footage from the Knicks' win over the Celtics in Game 7 of the 1973 Eastern Conference finals - the first Game 7 playoff loss in Celtics history.

Dean Meminger played so well on both ends of the court that Knicks coach Red Holtzman benched Earl Monroe for three quarters. Dean the Dream played 36 minutes, and finished with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Knicks went on to beat the Lakers for the title - their last championship until the one they won last week.
