So he still was part of a championship team. Most players rather have a championship than anything else. I bet Dekker would, not easy getting a ring. Besides I'm sure Juan os very valuable in practice and it looked like he enjoyed the ride.

Does that mean he had the “better career?”  Because if that’s the standard, Juan has had a better career than Karl Malone.

When you have two absolute crapburgers of NBA players, at least one can claim he's a champion.

Oh. So now we move the goalposts again.  Gotcha.

I'm not sure how I can move any goalposts when I never even set any goalposts in the first place.

Not saying exactly that, but I bet if you gave Dekker a choice he would rather be part of a championship team. Anyway I'm letting this go, whatever you think is ok you're right!

Dekker has had a better career. But if you follow social media, Juan, as the first Mexican American to win a Championship, it’s a big, big deal. Dekker better player, Juan will probably be remembered more.

This is definitely true. Was talking to a friend whose family still lives in Mexico and Juan basically has a national following. I didn't realize how significant it was.

Congrats to Juan on an incredible achievement. His career has been remarkable since leaving MU. Extra emphasis on “since leaving MU” because he was a pretty big disappointment on the basketball court when he played here.
CR:
Juan started over 75 games at MU. Was a member of our Elite 8 and specialized as a glue defense guy.

Juan has advanced his glue guy defense game to the NBA Level and earned the respect of the coach and the best player on the team , which is why he has made the Warriors roster three years in a row .

I agree.  What Juan accomplished is just incredible and he will have that ring forever that no one can take from him.

I think this may be his last hurrah with GS though.  I believe his contract is done.  After Klay and Otto Porter came back from injuries and Gary Payton arrived, Juan was delegated to the bench and hardly played at all.  GS has Kuminga and
Moody waiting in the wings.  May be a numbers victim.

If Shaka wasn’t going after him hard, I hope Shaka’s got a better eye for talent than consensus. If he was going after him hard, serious NIL issues. I have zero doubt Shaka has the personality to recruit. If he wanted Milan and couldn’t even get into his top 6 while the kid is living 25 minutes away, not good.

Iggy is likely retiring, I hope Juan keeps the dream alive.

No kidding. Wondering (out loud no less) about a former MU player’s sex life. Jesus there are some weird people here.
