After Beating Pewaukee Then beating Drew Diener's Fon du lac Team then beating the Sussex team, the team head coached by our Son got 2nd place in State losing to the Knueppel WI Lutheran team in the 8th Grade AAU select division Championship Game tonight.

I gave the Big Arch a try.   Didn't like it.  It'd be better without the "crispy onions" .. and the beef patties .. too much.

It tries to be a premium burger but .. misses.

Pennsylvania's guv Shapiro gave a speech about PA's role in America with a huge poster about America's 250th anniversary behind him and the other people on stage, including an actor dressed up as Benjamin Franklin. Suddenly, the poster came loose and crashed down on the stage, narrowly missing everyone. Shapiro's immediate response was to make sure no one was injured, and-not missing an opportunity, -asked something like "are you alright, Dr. Franklin?"  ;D

I have no trouble imagining our prez worrying only about himself.

I was in the home of great grandson of Lee's cavalry general-Jeb Stuart IV-once on business. There were professionally built, lighted museum cases in one large room displaying the general's dress uniform and many other items.

There are still reenactments of Civil War battles-excuse me...the War Between the States...and my wife and I once saw what seemed like an endless line of uniformed reenactors returning from battle on horseback. It has only been in the past 10-20 years that any of the commemorative events and various activities has been questioned.

When I first came to Richmond in 1981, I remember being in a beautiful part of the park system and people quietly enjoying the band music. Then the band played its last number-Dixie. Suddenly the entire mood changed. People climbed on top of picnic tables, whooping it up, singing at the top of their lungs and dancing to the music. I thought I might be taken as a POW.

Today's Richmond is almost unrecognizable from that time, yet there are still Rebels in town.
