I have had two drinks this year.  7 in 24.  6 in 23.  Two the night of the win over X in Milwaukee.  Luv ya, BC77.  Too many prescriptions that warn against drinking too much, so I don't.

But, prior to the prescriptions, 10 years ago,  my alcohol consumption had already dropped to 2 drinks a month or so.  It has been 20+ years since my last hangover.

I loved beer.  I left it behind.

That is one Hell of an increase. In any case...glad to see it. I enjoy an occasional beer or glass of wine and drank more when I was much younger, but not heavily. I'm very happy now with being a very light drinker but have no plans to eliminate alcohol altogether.

I'm at about 2 beers per month and one glass of wine per month. I buy individual bottles of beer at Trader Joe's rather than a six pack of one kind. My wife, always a very light drinker before, decided to not drink at all about 4-5 years ago.

Quote from: The Sultan on Today at 01:13:44 PMThe survey question wasn't if *any* alcohol is bad for your health - but if "one or two drinks a day" is bad for your health.

I personally can't imagine drinking one or two drinks a day.

Yup. I have days in which I drink 1-2 beers, but I rarely drink 7-14 beers in any week, and I never drink 30-60 beers in a month. I also just about never drink at home, and certainly not alone. Not criticizing those who do, but I'm the definition of a moderate social drinker.

Don't think you can cut back that much?

Quote from: The Sultan on Today at 12:30:38 PMI know a fair number of people who used to drink, but don't anymore largely for health reasons. The reason could mean anything from caloric intake to "I can't sleep when I drink."

I also don't think it's in isolation from the other link I posted above that people are working out more as well. People are living healthier lifestyles.
This is me right there.  One stiff cocktail (Manhattan, martini, etc.) is my limit if I want to be able to sleep.
