Cornell finished his show in Detriot and hung himself after.

Is anyone surprised that Detriot does this to people?

Cause them to misspell fairly easy words twice in two sentences?

You're an a$$hole.  I take it you have never had a friend whose struggle with depression led them to take their own life.

Yes. But more importantly, suicide is a topic people tend not to joke about. I know your intent was to be funny but your impact came off a little different.

A few years back we were talking at work about the relationship between lifestyle and mortality, and I said, "Look at Jackie Gleason!  The guy is in his 70's, he's been morbidly obese his entire life, he's a chain smoker, and he drinks like a fish.  Why is he still alive?"

The next morning, I saw on the news that he had passed away overnight.  It was as if God was listening in on my conversation and thought, "You know, she's got a point..."
Your power scares me chick.
Please dont give my longevity even a passing thought
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Interesting that his final song before (allegedly) killing himself was "In My Time of Dying"

In my time of dying has been played in the song Salves and Bulldozers for the past three years.

Don't worry  Should I ever decide to wield my great power over Scoopers, there are plenty of people ahead of you I would deal with first.
Have some patience, FFS.

Let's see, we've now learned about both Samson and Gleason's demise via Warriorchick. Just how long is this list of yours?

I lost my best friend and an aunt to suicide.  And even though both were many years ago, jokes like that still aren't funny.

quoting the most popular musical in recent history in a thread about music to make the same point others had made?   Nah.

Jockey

One of the greatest rock voices ever. I always kinda thought of him as Paul Rodgers with an extra octave and a half.

The first Audioslave album was one of my all-time favorites. Who couldn't like a combo of Chris and Rage Against the Machine?

MU82

I can really belt out "Runaway"; it's my karaoke standard. Now that Del Shannon is dead, I'm the go-to voice for it!
"It's not how white men fight." - Tucker Carlson

"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism." - George Washington

"In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell

🏀

Audioslave was very underwhelming.

STONGLY agree with your disagreement.

Soundgarden was instamental in changing music.  They were both shockingly 'in your face' loud and extremely heartfelt/real.  RATM was an absolute force who's message may be more salient today than it was 20 years ago.  Audioslave let Rage's musical talents shine with a more personal message.

Audioslave worked great just like Velvet Revolver worked great.  The band was able to showcase their talents behind a frontman that was as good as the original but very different.

TAMU is correct. It is a fact. Haha, referring to some other threads. I liked Audioslave, I thought they did a good job of updating the "Grunge" thing while still being true to the original sound. Regarding Cornell's suicide, I feel deeply sorry for him. There was a time in my life when I would have.called him a coward. With a little age, I have come to understand how life can beat you down, throw in some mental illness and the wrong circumstances and it might seem like a reasonable course of action. I feel sorry for him but more so for the family he left behind.
