The article is not quite as unequivocal as the title of this thread.

I for one, think he's making a great choice! Great for MU!  :)

Oh ... dear ... I would be so, so sad to see him go.

Oh ... please ... Angel, don't go.

How convincing was that?

He's old as dirt and the NBA isn't all that impressed with his numbers against kids one to three years younger then him.

Well, that answers my question.  It actually, it also answers the question of why he would be anxious to leave, as well.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Hope he's studying his Italian, right?

Actually, if he studied period he might be able to grad transfer and I'd bet a number of top teams would be calling him right now.

So college kids who don't graduate in 3 years "don't study period?"

I like how this quote makes it look like he doesn't know who the coach is :)

I think this about captures it. He's an old school low post player in a league that doesn't particularly value that any more, he dominates physically against less strong players but won't be particularly imposing in the NBA at 6'10" 240, and he's already 22. Great college player that really carried that team for stretches last year, but his stock is as high as its going to get (even if he's only a fringey second round guy).

I agree that Delgado is ready to get paid to play, and there is nothing at all wrong with that.
However, if he thinks that is in the NBA next hear, then Angels, we have heard, are high.

One of the best rebounders in college basketball. Unfortunately, the rest of his game is nowhere near elite level. Good but not great close to the basket (54.3% from 2-point range last season), turnover prone (19.7% TORate) and not a credible threat outside the post (0-3 from 3-point range in three seasons). Also, he's 51.3% from the line for his college career — not a good sign of shooting potential.

Most troubling (at least for NBA scouts), Angel hasn't shown much if any improvement year over year. He's pretty much the same player he was as a freshman, only 3 years older.

He also can't jump well, though he has a great nose for the ball.  Also rather aged for the NBA.  He would be 23 shortly after the upcoming NBA season starts.  Good for SHU, but he sure gives MU fits.
