We probably had a better track record with 2-3 star players than we did with 4-5 star players under Buzz. Makes it easier to tout that type of list

More than anything on the scouting report, Greg Elliott is just a competitor. He plays at 100% every single play, on both ends of the court and does not back down. Greg is the epitome of a dog on the court, he just has it in him to be candid.

Spent 20 years in Detroit area...when you get the best of the PSL you got something.

I remember seeing Jalen Rose, Voshon Lenard and Howard Eisley play for Southwestern (Eisley was a year ahead)...all eyes were on Rose who had the swagger...winked at the cheerleaders, smug grin...scored 30 without sweating. Hardley noticed Lenard with 17 but he ended up great too.

Chris Webber was also Detroit but got recruited to a suburban prep school...he was going to go to Southwestern with Rose....what a HS team that would have been.

Also, the young actor who played Elliot in the film, Henry Thomas, later went on to star in a film called Fire in the Sky, in which he played a character named Greg.

And exactly 18 years ago today, Thomas had a supporting role in a foreign film called The Thickest Neck in which he played a character named, I sh*t you not, Steve Wojchiechowski.
