Can someone explain the whole E.T. thing to me?

Be careful, you might offend some of the resident buffs.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Why is everyone excited for a 2 star (3 in some services) recruit?

Not even a top 100 guy.

Yeah who would want guys like:
Jimmy Butler
Chris Otule
David Cubilian
Marcus Jackson
Dwight Buycks
Ousmane Barro
Jae Crowder
Darius Johnson-Odom
Davante Gardner
Todd Mayo
Dwyane Wade

We've never had success with any guys who weren't in the top 100

Yeah, but those guys weren't nearly as good as Eric Williams or Jamal Ferguson.

Lunardi had us in his bracketology before learning of this pick-up.

If we can just nail the preseason scrimmage!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Eric Williams played in the NBA. Unfortunately, Erik Williams played at Marquette. Never made the NBA but was top 100.

Stupid auto correct.  Of course it was 'Erik'

I'd like to know how many times someone on this board has posted this list in response to someone else complaining about us not recruiting 4 and 5 stars. Happens every single time.

We probably had a better track record with 2-3 star players than we did with 4-5 star players under Buzz. Makes it easier to tout that type of list ;)

Is it not factual?

QuoteMore than anything on the scouting report, Greg Elliott is just a competitor. He plays at 100% every single play, on both ends of the court and does not back down. Greg is the epitome of a dog on the court, he just has it in him to be candid.
Man have we been missing THIS!

My gripe is with the people who continue to complain after being given the facts to which you refer.

Not a movie. It's a horrible tv spinoff of a horrible 90's/00's sitcom we'll have to familiarize ourselves with.

Spent 20 years in Detroit area...when you get the best of the PSL you got something.

I remember seeing Jalen Rose, Voshon Lenard and Howard Eisley play for Southwestern (Eisley was a year ahead)...all eyes were on Rose who had the swagger...winked at the cheerleaders, smug grin...scored 30 without sweating. Hardley noticed Lenard with 17 but he ended up great too.

Chris Webber was also Detroit but got recruited to a suburban prep school...he was going to go to Southwestern with Rose....what a HS team that would have been.

Also, the young actor who played Elliot in the film, Henry Thomas, later went on to star in a film called Fire in the Sky, in which he played a character named Greg.

And exactly 18 years ago today, Thomas had a supporting role in a foreign film called The Thickest Neck in which he played a character named, I sh*t you not, Steve Wojchiechowski.

Yes, those are chills you feel running up your back.

Mind blow!

So wait, is MUFanInNY referencing this movie when he talks about recruits having thick necks? Or is that just a weird coincidence?

Not sure if blue chips would qualify. Maybe That Championship Season. Or how about Hoosiers.
