Struggled with Creighton in the regular season for whatever reason. Beat Depaul twice but lost to Creighton twice.

MU up 6 at half.
Didn't notice this, the Womens team has 1 senior... 1!
The womens team has 1 Junior...
This is a young, fast, good team. I rarely watch them, but that is great news for MUWBB future.

Does women's bball have quarters? Sincerely asking.

Nvm. Just looked it up. I actually like their rules. Team fouls reset each quarter and you're in bonus at 5 fouls. I like it.

Marquette has played very good defense. Largely controlled the Jays inside and let them miss from deep. 7 point lead with about 5 to play.

Their fast break game looks familiar. Wojo and Kieger must have coffee together and discuss pace of play.

Wojo probably picked it up from Kieger. I do think they have a pretty good relationship though from what ive heard.

For those of us who haven't paid attention this season, do the women have a chance at an at-large bid if they lose tomorrow?  Or does their season come down to this?  Either way, great to have them playing well too!

Announcers today said this should help them move up a seed line. Sounds like probably an 8-9 seed

Amani Wilborn gets my SOTG vote. Creighton sagged off her and she made them pay. Great game, hope it's slow enough at work tomorrow that I can watch the final.

Yes, Natasha Hiedemann. Started slow today but had a few key baskets in the second half.

Hiedeman took a hard fall in the Georgetown game yesterday and appeared to hurt her ankle.  She does not look to be 100 percent right now.

This is the second season the Women's game is doing quarters.  Both coaches today took advantage of the fact that they could advance the ball out of a timeout.

Tickets for tomorrow's final are only $10 and there is not a bad seat in the house.  Come out and support this team tomorrow!

Go Marquette!

Women are around 35 in the rpi.  With some really nice wins.  They r solidy in the field prolly 7-9 range.  With a 5-6 possible with a BE title.  Not bad for a predominantly underclassman lineup

ESPN bracketology had them at an 8 the last few weeks but moved them to a 7 this morning.  It would be great to avoid a 1 seed on their home court as the top 16 teams host in the first and second round.

Outside of senior Yentz it has been pretty much the sophomores with playing time of late.  Junior Shantelle Valentine's pt has diminished lately.  The team wanted to get Yentz to the NCAA Tourney for the first time and they will achieve that goal.

Welcome to the party, boys.

I am chuckling at some of these posts. If you had paid a scintilla of attention this year, you would have already known most of this stuff.  Actually, a walking boot is an upgrade for Coach Kieger. She was zooming around on a knee scooter earlier in the year.

Maybe next season you will start following them a little earlier. They aren't bad for a bunch of girls.    ;)

The game @DePaul was one of the best games I've watched. 102-101 OT thriller. Both fan bases packed the place. Really excited about the state of the Marquette Basketball program!

So, I have to choose between viewing the MU women or the UWM men in their tourney champ games.  Tough call!  I think I'll go with the faster paced, more athletic, better brand of basketball... The ladies win!

the second game against DePaul was the afternoon after the guys played Xavier on NMD.
With a similar start.
The ladies scored 21 points in the first 4 minutes of the game.

If I'm not mistaken, DePaul has two or three top players back that weren't around when we played them the first two times. Hopefully the home court advantage can bridge the gap. Would be an incredible accomplishment to win the tourney. Getting to the championship is very admirable given the youth of the team.
