This one is a lot closer for me than I think for most.

Reinhardt- When SJU went on a run and got it to 10 points, Katin went on a personal 10-0 run to squash their momentum and keep us out of spitting distance. Handed out 5 dimes too.

Sammy- Set the tone early going 4-4 from three. Grabbed eight boards and was a terror defensively nabbing three steals...two of which were all out effort plays.

JJJ- Least deserving of the group but I though he responded well after the benching and had a run in the 2nd half that put a stop to SJU's last stand. Plus...that dunk.

But the SOTG should go to Heldter-Skelter. 100% from the floor, 15 points, 10 boards and solid defense in the post. Was the heart of the team tonight.

Couldn't find his minutes yet but only 3 PF's. Remember when he was a foul machine?
Had 2-3 missed FT rebounds that went to others, I thought he wouldn't get the dub-dub.
As Skat pointed out, good work by Luke. I roared when he got
the contested rebound for # 10 and was impressed that the crowd was on it. I remember a post when Matty was a recruit or a raw frosh when one of the regulars indicated he had game.
Good work tonight by Sam, JJJ, Rowsey and Swag, but it's the maiden for Matty.

I have said it from day 1, we dont need scoring from the 5.  We need defense n rebounding!!! The kid brings it.  He can score the scraps too, good enough n the kid hits free throws!!!

Agreed but defense too.  Not that Hauser was terrible on D but Heldt had to clean up the mess when we loss guys on the perimeter plus deal with St. John's bigs.

That said,  I would have no problem with Hauser either.

I see where you are going with that.  Heldt came to play, had been amping up his game the whole year, hell I would have gave it to him for his OT Seton Hall defensive performance alone.  Close contest Heldt by a nose.
