I'd rather not chance it with 3..just win 4 and remove all doubts.

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

Let's get 1 tomorrow and see where we go from there.

Agree, but 3 is way too risky 4 should be a lock.
Goal is National Championship

Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

I think 9-9 gets us to Dayton, honestly. I think 1 win in the BET after 9-9 and we're in with a bye.

The bubble is too soft. I just think our resume matches up well with other bubble teams (assuming 9-9 finish). I don't see the committee taking an 8-10, 7-11 ACC or B10 team over us. And trust me, there will be several under .500 P6 teams that make it.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

9-9 maybe but three things I wonder about.

1. As mentioned, what do we need to do in the BET. 1 loss and 18-13? Ugly.

2. People say the bubble is soft but how soft?

3. SETON HALL. If they beat nova today and somehow finish 10-8 or even 9-9. They outshine us at 9-9 with a better record and some nice quality wins of their own (See their schedule...doable). I can see committee guys saying 5 BE Teams are enough and MU, eh.
I am rooting against SH big time at 11:30. They are our biggest bubble competition if they win and we finish 9-9.

I see no reason to believe this team will earn its way into the tourney based on the last few games regardless of how many wins it will take. Maybe they can change that tonight

I'm going with RPI, and 9-9 gets us to about 80.  That'll leave me hopeful for the NIT.

Not true. Win our home games, lose at PC and X and it's 68 as of today. That's good enough for an at large (see last year), and plus, committee has said they're moving their focus away from raw RPI, and MU rates much much better in Kenpom and sagrin.

Hit a wall, had a week to regroup.  Lots of energy in the house tonight. With injuries, this is a good match up for MU. X has been trying to slow down the tempo as of late. If we have fresh legs, look out.  Can we keep X off the boards?

fjm

We can't keep ANYONE off the boards, which is sucky. But I'm hopeful!

How many we NEED? Depends, if we're top-6, we only need three in NYC. 7-10 and we need four.

Not necessarily.

Well, to be guaranteed a spot, winning the Big East Tournament is all we need.

Yes, but it's also possible we need 0 BET wins.

Agreed.  Now the focus turns to Tuesday.  We'll reevaluate after that.
Yup.  Let's get 2.

Including BEast tournament wins, I'd feel much better if we got to 20 wins.

DUNKS45

yeah 20 total with the BE tourny and we're in. Of course I'd love to see us run the table to finish league play with 5 straight and 1 or 2 in the BE  but, let's just get to the big dance.
