Happy Valentine's Day, y'all!

Now before you start chanting "Superbar", read my whole post.

Marquette posted an article in Medium about people who fell in love while they were at Marquette.  Below is a picture and the text from my second favorite story:

I met my significant other while at school there! The year was 2002, my freshman year, and it was one of those "love at first sight" moments. It was a special year, and ever since then I've been married to Marquette Men's Basketball. Sure like any other couple we have our disagreements and down times, but she will always be the love of my life. For better or worse, richer or poorer, till death do us part, nothing can replace her. — Armen Saryan

Haha thanks for the post. I was the one that made this comment. I had no idea everyone would be so excited about my funny.

I have to say mubb is more like a mistress than a wife. But I love her forever.

Keep the faith everyone, the sun will shine on us soon. Keep the faith forever.

The whole thing was a fun read, including Armen's love for DWade & Co.

I knew Dan Tighe when he was on the hockey team in the late-70s. Fun to see what happened to him.

The couple who met while working together at the Trib resonates with me, as that is where my wife and I met, too. She was smart enough to get out of the business early and is now a nurse. I stayed in the newspaper biz until it chose to no longer afford me. The missus has let me hang around despite my slovenly ways and is now the best Sugar Mama around!

My wife and I met at MU in the fall of 1970. We dated for awhile and while I was love she wasn't. She married another MU guy in 1973, I married someone from St. Francis (Pa.) in 1974. But we stayed in touch. I got divorced in 1990, her husband died in 1994, we almost reconnected in 1996 but didn't. Finally, in 2006, I left my job in NYC and moved to Erie. Thirty-six years after our first date, we got married. We still are, 10 years later. I hav e bought her eight different pairs of MU socks and she wears a different pair every time MU plays.

That is an effen cool story!

It's sad to go through the kind of adversity that each of you did, but it is truly wonderful that your very different paths eventually led you back together. Fantastic!

Congratulations!  The National Alumni Awards is a really fun weekend.

great stories. I was too immature for any meaningful relationships while at MU but that was fortunate as I met my significant other later and have been blissfully wed for 40 years.
