The Pittsburgh and now Seton Hall games will undoubtedly come back to haunt this team and keep our seniors from tasting the NCAA tournament during their careers.  Jujuan n Fischer in 40 years of watching MU basketball have been near the very top of most frustrating players I have ever witnessed.  Luke's missed dunk and zero defensive rebounds and jujuans drive n no look pass to no one summed up their careers to a degree.  It's frustrating to have more confidence in our underclassmen to make the right play than those two.  Jujuan goes into mental funks and luke all too often stands n watches.
Still hoping these two can turn it around on the court, however, sometimes retaining hope only makes it harder.

Ran RPI Wizard. If we go 19-11 with us getting the 9 most likely wins (Hall, Depaul, Providence, @SJU, @Depaul, Butler, Xavier, SJU, @Providence) gets us an RPI of 48 and SOS of 46. While it is theoretically possible that we could be left out, I would be shocked. This is also before the BET. Get a win or two there and it solidifies our resume even more...provided we don't lose to St. John's (Drops us to 55 RPI 48 SOS) or Depaul (drops us to 55 RPI 50 SOS). Even then, we still have a decent shot.

Our non-con is much better than last season. The Big East is stronger this season. 19 wins should do it.

We are 36th in Kenpom. That's 5th in the conference. Significantly ahead of PC, SJU, and DP. Ahead of SHU and Georgetown by a significant margin.

Could we finish 7th or worse? Sure. Personally, I'd be shocked if we finished lower than 6th.

We will probably get off to a 3-5 start in league with a difficult schedule (worst case 2-6). However, we have 8 winnable games in a row after that. This team is way better than you think.

Seton Hall is also a terrible matchup for us. Has been the past few years. That being said, Marquette should have had that game, no excuses there but hopefully Haanif will have a resurgence and we can steal one from Nova and beat the Hall at home.

Side note, which stadium are we playing Nova at?

But I think we are still in good position this season for a bid. Going 9-7 the rest of the way is not unreasonable at all.

Listen, I don't expect to win @Nova. They are far better than us. That said, we get them at Wells Fargo instead of The Pavilion. We get 5 days to prepare while they play Wednesday and only get 2 days. They will still probably handle us, but we get a few breaks coming into the game.

Tourney potential is still there the way we shoot it. Reminds me of Buzz's midgets team in 2010, who started the conference season 2-5 with several close losses, including a HOME loss to DePaul (DePaul's ONLY conference win for a 49 game stretch - unreal). That team also had their version of this year's non-con Pitt game (blowing a huge 2H lead to Florida St.). They learned from those early heartbreaking losses and started gutting out close games by minimizing mistakes and continuing to bomb from deep with impunity.

The seniors on that team (Hayward, Acker, Cubillan) refused to be denied, with help from some shorter-tenured players with high-end talent (DJO, Butler). Need that to be the case with Jajuan and Fischer this year, with help from Howard, Hauser, and Cheatham.

The Pitt & Seton Hall losses definitely sting. However, there is ample time to make up for them. No time like this Saturday in Philly!
