I'm as frustrated about the loss as anyone, but it would have been far more frustrating to me if I thought we actually had a chance to make the NCAA's this year.  As I see it we're just not a tournament team.  We can deny it all we want, keep the faith and say the Pitt/SH games are going to come back to haunt us but deep down I know it's not going to happen for probably another 3 years.  We're just flat out not that good.  Call me a pessimist if you like but that's my take.  Nothing would make me happier than to be wrong but I just don't see it and unfortunately have to side with the so called experts who picked us to finish 7th this year.  With St. John's and DePaul rising, even that might be optimistic.  I'm still in WOJO's camp and believe strongly we're headed in the right direction, but his turnaround is going to take much more time than we'd all like unfortunately.

If we don't make the tournament for 3 more years, being in Wojo's camp will be irrelevant, because he'll no longer be MU's coach.

Important to note that we're also seeing a fair degree of vulnerability around the league. Nova still undefeated and certainly the league's best, but they beat Depaul by 3. Xavier is 12-2 but has some weird close ones this season. Butlers losses are headscratchers. Prov and GT seem to be in disarray.

Think we fight Hall for the 5th spot. Home against them is a biggie next week.

I really expect Saturday night to be a good game. I don't think we come out on top by virtue of Nova being the top team in the country, nearly by consensus, but we'll have a chip on our shoulder after Hall with a week to stew/practice and Nova will be coming off a likely dogfight (mind the pun) on the road in Indy 3 days prior.

Unfortunately,
The Pittsburgh and now Seton Hall games will undoubtedly come back to haunt this team and keep our seniors from tasting the NCAA tournament during their careers.  Jujuan n Fischer in 40 years of watching MU basketball have been near the very top of most frustrating players I have ever witnessed.  Luke's missed dunk and zero defensive rebounds and jujuans drive n no look pass to no one summed up their careers to a degree.  It's frustrating to have more confidence in our underclassmen to make the right play than those two.  Jujuan goes into mental funks and luke all too often stands n watches.
Still hoping these two can turn it around on the court, however, sometimes retaining hope only makes it harder.

Winning or losing these games is not relevant to qualifying for the tournament.  They will receive an automatic bid by winning the conference tournament.

That said, we get them at Wells Fargo instead of The Pavilion. We get 5 days to prepare while they play Wednesday and only get 2 days. They will still probably handle us, but we get a few breaks coming into the game.

This is a classic trap game.  Home against a middling, but rested, team that is out for blood in between big road games against top 15 opponents (Butler and X).  I've got a feeling...
